The Awakening - Review
This is the first book in the Dragon Heart Legacy trilogy. Breen has been told, by her mother, for most of her life that she's not good enough, that she'll never be more than average. She got a degree that she didn't want, due to her mother's insisting, and has a job that she doesn't like. While taking care of her mothers house while said mother is on a spa vacation, Breen's life is turned upside down. She goes to Ireland to search for the father that left her when she was young, and finds something magical.Keegan became taoiseach (chieftain) of Talamh at a young age. He knows his duty to his home world, and he knows the dark forces that are looking to tear apart his world and the next. But the bridge to the next world is a stubborn woman that refuses to acknowledge what she has inside of her. Yet, he'll train Breen to become the warrior she needs to be.This is not the usual "boy meets girl and starts to fall in love while battling the dark forces" type of book that Ms. Roberts has done in the past. This book is about Breen finding who and what she is and learning how to deal with that, as she's pulled between the two worlds. She finds a lot of things have been kept from her by her mother and has to come to terms with it, as well.I enjoyed the story, and it grabbed my interest. I enjoyed how Breen started opening up to become her own self and not the "average" person her mother made her feel. I was thrilled that Breen did confront her mother about the past and made her mother see how she had grown into her own being. And I was alternately sad and mad of how her mother still dismissed Breen. This book does end on a cliffhanger!!! If you don't like cliffhangers, and don't have the second book, I'd suggest you wait then!! I'm looking forward to the second one to see how things start to shape up again.

TheAwakening
One of the best books I've read. I love books about witches, fairies, the fey, etc. This one keeps your attention. I read it in one day. Also I love Nora Roberts.

Comfy fantasy
This is probably a 3.5, rounded up. Enjoyable but not a literary great.Breen is a self-doubting 20-something who's world changes when she discovers an inheritance from her missing father. With encouragement from her friends, she decides to do something that she wants to do for the first time in her adult life. She travels to her father's home country, Ireland, where she finds courage, family, and a portal to a magical land. This is my second Nora Roberts book. While a bit slow, this book had very much a comfy fantasy feeling - a nice leisurely read. Her good characters are enduring, but overall her characters are fairly simple - good or evil (or stereotypically gay).

The Awakening
When you are raised to be one thing but find you are meant for another purpose. This book is well written, love the characters and story but this is a series so beware .. this is book 1 of 3 and you will be unable to stop at just this one!

Enjoyable Adventure in 3 books
I have all 3 of the books in the Nora Roberts Adventure. A friend misplaced the first book I loaned her, so I purchased it again so that I can loan the series to other friends.

A great book about Fey .
I love how Breen learned that she was Fey. Falling through a large tree she discovers a completely different world. She also discovers her powers. If you enjoy good fantasy/romance then this is a great choice.

Stunning
The first part of The Dragonheart Legacy - a trilogy. We meet Breen Kelly, who goes through life trying to avoid attention, doing a job she hates and struggling paycheck to paycheck. She has grown up in a single parent home with her mum telling her she'll never amount to much, and that's why her dad left. Then, one day, she starts to notice mysterious man with silver hair is always around, though only she can see him. This leads to her finding an incredible surprise in her mum's papers and to the knowledge she's been lied to her whole life. A trip to Ireland fills in the missing pieces, and it would be unfair to give it away. All i will say is that she is something more than human with a huge destiny. All she needs to do is choose it.A fantastically thrilling read. A few dark frightening moments but many more happy, fun moments. A particular delight is Bollocks the dog.Be aware that this first part ends on a cliffhanger, so you may want to have part 2 ready for after you've finished.
