How many batteries do you get, And how many amp-hours is the battery?

The screwdriver has a micro usb outlet on the handle and plugs directly into the wall with the cable provided. It does not have a separate battery. I do not know the particular amp-hours for the battery. However, I tend to charge it after every 4 uses after using it for about 10-15 minutes during each use. It charges rapidly and retains it's charge well.

Is there an adapter for using drill bits?

You can purchase drill bits that have the 1/4" shank.

Can anyone tell me what the clear plastic case, inside the main case, is for? It sits under the screwdriver. Perhaps to carry screws or such?

That clear plastic cases a smalle case for your screws. I bought this because I wanted to start being able to do household projects without asking my husband for help and this is very light weight and it is powerful and works wonderfully.
