This book was my introduction to the legal process of divorce, though the real story began last year when talking to a contact. She had been in almost continuous conflict with her husband after they had sold the business they had built together. I was amazed as I read Divorce, Simply Stated how many of the twists and turns I heard about were detailed in the book – including procrastination at actually filing for divorce! Written in a light hearted yet knowledgeable manner there are also the important reminders of looking after oneself. More than just stating the legal process this book, provides advice on how to live through the emotion of a divorce. How it can provide an opportunity to successfully create a new life. To step through the anger and guilt of the process to emerge with vibrancy as the “best of you”. Apart from the fascinating overviews of how lawyers actually bill, several of the many lists set out how to gain the most from the professional relationship – useful for situations other than divorces. Making this is more than a “How To” book about the legal process of divorce. There is also essential advice on staying relaxed and healthy so “you sleep like Chuck” - Larry's dog when writing the book! The information on how to act and be during an interview could be used in many of life's situations.

This is A Very Realistic and Detail Book About Divorce. I like how the author walks the reader through the emotional and factual ideations and laws about divorce. The author gives the reader legal information and resources and helps a person think strategically and also recognize the impacts of current and future dynamics of divorce. Divorces can be very expensive because 2 people are hurting and certain type of lawyers know that and they prey on it. Thus this lawyer discusses with you how to choose a lawyer and shows you ways to address your future ex. The author also recognizes how divorce impact people and families and the importance of building a support system and taking care of the children in the process. I would definitely recommend this book to individuals who are struggling in the process of getting divorce and they need professional legal resources.

I can't believe how much I've learned and I'm only a couple of chapters into this great book on divorce and separation. It doesn’t matter if yours is a late divorce or one with young kids, this book is filled with strategies and tips that will help you during and beyond divorce - the ultimate divorce guide to a transformational divorce! You can read forever about divorce in books or on-line, but this experienced lawyer’s book makes it come alive in ways that help you learn. The best thing about this book - and there's a whole lot to love about it - is how calm it makes you feel. They say knowledge is power and this book has all the info you need. It isn’t a book about divorce for kids, but if parents read it, their kids will be so much better off. This must be the best of the books on getting through divorce!

This book by Larry Sarezky is the new "Divorce Bible." (In this particular case, BIBLE stands for Basic Instructions Before Losing Everything!) I STRONGLY suggest anyone who is either thinking about, or about to start divorce proceedings, STUDY this book. Not just read it, but again, STUDY IT, or you may lose everything or more than you want to, in your upcoming divorce. Mr. Sarezky's vast knowledge is evident in the sound advice he gives. He suggests that before going ahead with a full divorce, a couple may choose "ADR." (Alternative Dispute Resoultion) which gives a divorcing couple more control over things, and can even save A LOT of money on attorney time, which saves on those expensive attorney fees. (He also discusses how to limit attorney fees more, in Chapter 7) Larry goes into things I would have NEVER thought of while divorcing. Divorce Alternatives (Yes, they do exist!) How to avoid bad divorce advice from well meaning friends, family, and yes, even from lawyers! But wait....there's much more. How to choose a good lawyer, (This advice goes beyond a divorce lawyer. It's good for picking ANY type of lawyer) Educating yourself about divorce, Many ways you should safeguard children in the process, How to PROPERLY understand spousal support, property distribution, finances, Possible court testimony, and again, so much more to list here. He also uses well-placed humor to lighten up the seriousness of this unfortunate subject. (Love your dog Chuck. May he rest in peace. He reminds me of my two cats, who "helped" me to write my first book.) I STRONGLY (Again) recommend you buy this book, before you are seriously considering divorce. It will give you much more of a chance, to NOT lose everything. (Or come close to it) Well done, Mr. Sarezky, Esq! This is THE book you need while going through possibly the hardest life experience. Real-world advice that you can implement in your life instantly to help pick up those pieces. I cannot recommend this book enough.
