This safety rail is very stable and sturdy. Well worth the money. The wide bowed width makes it easier to wipe while sitting. Since it is not bolted to the floor or toilet it is easy to move out of the way for cleaning or greater access to the tub in smaller bathrooms. I had no issue putting it together or adjusting it. The durable metal is light weight but the structure is balanced and safe, more so than other budget options and potable commodes we have tried. I wish we had purchased this one to begin with. I highly recommend.

If you look at the negative reviews, you will see that the complaints are about assembly issues and tripping over the base-bars. Well, that has nothing to do with functionality and, in life; you do have to watch where you are walking, if you can walk. Incidentally, mine assembled with ease. What this product provides is the ability for someone that has good upper body strength, that either can’t stand or can only partially stand, to lift themselves up - even slightly - to allow a caregiver access to pull pants on and/or slip a transfer board underneath. I can also see how this would allow a person to more easily rise, if standing is difficult. Clearly, you have to be sure that even pressure is placed on both sides simultaneously or the device will flip sideways. This has not been an issue, so far. This has very comfortable grips and seems quite strong - not cheap looking or flimsy. Once set, it does not slide easily on the floor. Another nice aspect is that it can easily be moved away from the toilet for normal access.

I have bought two of these toilet safety rails - one several years ago and the second one last week for a family member. This product is extremely easy to assemble and is quite sturdy. It tucks around the toilet and does not obstruct the toilet seat at all. It does have grippers on the "feet", but if this product is sitting on a tile floor, I have found that putting non-slip pads along the sides of the toilet (under the feet) helps keep it grounded. It is a safe and sturdy product and is helpful to those who need support when using the toilet.

This unit arrived quickly and was very well packaged. It was easy to assemble and had a QR code with a video that showed step by step instructions. I ultimately had to return it and order a narrower unit. It was the perfect width for the cubby our toilet is tucked into, but the wing nuts that you put it together with screw in from the outside of the unit. It was too wide for our space by just those wing nuts. If you have a tight space to fit it into, measure carefully. The return request process was easy, I just wish it would have fit. It was exactly what we were looking for to assist my elderly mother with toileting.

This works great for my needs (I didn't attach the basket that came with it). I like that it easily moves forward out of the way if someone doesn't need it. It's sturdy and doesn't wobble.

The toilet safety rail is great for seniors. It comes with the rails assembled and all that needs to be done is connect the two rails to the rails to support them in front and the stands on either side. All hardware needed is provided. Having hand holds to grab and assist with getting up from the toilet seat is great when there is nothing else to hold on to other than the toilet seat and installing grab bars is not possible for those with mobility issues. It looks a lot nicer than the "traditional" handicap toilet seat that has the disposable bucket for emptying for those who don't need a toilet near a bed and is much easier to move aside than a full handicap accessible toilet when not needed.

Easy to assemble and sturdy.

We ordered this safety rail to replace one we had because we wanted a free standing version. The one we had before screwed into the same bolts as the toilet seat, and even with longer ones, it kept causing the toilet seat to slide back and forth. We ordered this model and one other one so we would have one for home and one for travel. I liked the look of this one, but we needed a collapsible and adjustable one for when we are away from home. Appearance wise, this is really nice. It has a less orthopedic look than some. The handles are soft and it seems very sturdy. It was easy to assemble and included everything needed. Those are the positives. One the other hand, it is portable but not collapsible, so you can move it, but it's going to take up space. It is not adjustable at all, so if the height doesn't work or the footprint is too large or small, there is no what to change it. The worst thing about this model is the feet protruding out in the front. I have broken my foot and it took over 6 months to even begin to heal. I tripped on one of the feet of this safety rail and my foot has been giving me trouble again. I almost fell, multiple times because our bathroom is average/small, and I am used to moving about in limited space. The feet on this protrude several inches out in front of the toilet, and I tripped over them every time I went into the bathroom. I begged my husband to take it down and put the collapsible model back in there. My feet and nerves just couldn't handle the constant tripping. I am relatively young to need this type of device, but I need it none the less. I worry though for older people that might fall and injure themselves, especially if they are home alone. Fortunately for me, my husband was within earshot, though I am certain he got tired or hearing me yell, "Ouch!" every time I tripped trying to go to the bathroom. Please be careful if you choose this safety rail. The idea is great, but it was definitely not a safe option for me.

This is my second one as the first became a bit rusty over the years. Will always go for this style as no securing to toilet pan with nothing to hinder the toilet seat and can be moved out easily to clean around. Padded handles .Just very practical with a sturdy base. Goes together very easily with white butterfly screws (included) and can be taken apart if needed to store away.

Assembly is easy, solid unit that supports your weight. It works well, much better than the unit that fits on the toilet. Easy to move for cleaning the floor.
