It really is stainless steel with metal caps, very nice mirror finish, narrow enough so it doesn't hide state info or renewal decals but be careful the back and inside edges are razor sharp. I took a file to the edges to remove the sharp edges. If the manufacturer had deburred the sharp edges this would have been perfect.

The rear plate rattled in the frame the first way I installed it. You can get a flush mounting of the plate by this order: 1. screw, 2. black plastic threaded washer- ensuring that it cups the screw, 3. frame, 4. brass threaded washer, 5. License plate.

With the first order the frame was bent and warped, not square. The second order came without screws, caps, and any hardware. Both were shipped in an envelope not a carton.

Looks great on my 2020 mustang and fits well in the mustang’s narrow license plate area. Sturdy piece with very little bend or flex. The screw covers finish it off nicely. A quality piece at a great price. Would recommend and buy again.

These are nice looking license plate holders and seem well made. However, they do not fit the rear of a Mercedes E class. The mounting screws are too long and when they are tightened, they turn into the finish of the trunk.
