MM Master Class
Great to watch an expert toss off one with panache.Evan is the uptight owner of high-end hair salon. Dane is his free-wheeling, hyper-buff ex-boyfriend. Evan dumped Dane five years ago for being too frivolous. Yet the sexual chemistry between them--when they let loose of their hang-ups--is way too strong to keep them apart. The plot device is simple: some acts of homophobic vandalism have spooked Evan's wealthy, gay neighborhood. Evan is pressed to get private detective Dane to try to track down the culprit. But the greatest fun is Daryl Banner's depictions of the snarky queens who make up the residents of the cul de sac. Off-putting and archetypal, the sniping and gossip is both familiar and hilarious.Evan must learn (through his sexy ex-partner) how to escape the pettiness and fear inspired by the queen bee of the homeowners association, and to let his real self return to accept the love of his life. And have some mind-blowing "spice" in the process."My Bad Ex-Boyfriend" is a breeze to read and a gay treat.

Irresistible passion!
Evan and Dane are such appealing characters! I just enjoyed reasonably then and their irresistible desire for each other. These guys have such hot sex when they aren't at odds with each other. And even though the mystery they try to figure out isn't earth shattering its amusing and introduces a whole bunch of fun characters! Banner writes with ease that makes his books fly by. And the philosophical challenges both men struggle with and perfectly blended within the characters and the their choices. Yep you might even get some insight into your own life choices while enjoying this sexy, funny charming story.

This one messy, snarky, hilariously good book!
This is a modern gay romance self-proclaimed “enemies to lovers” story, it is a stand alone. There’s this general formula that I see a lot from gay romance: hulking hunky boyfriend breaks the heart of the awkward, nerdy twink…this is not that story! I loved these snarky characters so much that I’m still thinking about them, the community and all that happens! You need some laughter, a story that’s going to make you smile and inwardly cheer as you try to work out who done it?! Give this one a chance! This is my first by this author but I’m planning to dive in deep and read what I can find because it was really that fun to read!

Disappointing
I've read nearly 15 of Daryl's novels. This one irritated me for the lack of psychological or emotional depth in the protagonists. The major dynamic is power over and sexual manipulation and sexual game playing I wish this story could do a more mature job of exploring the emotional complexities of dealing with an ex- and how we go about recalibrating our gay lives; our life mistakes, corrections and recalibrations. The previous novel Raising Hell did a better and more complex job of dealing with emotion, sex and insight.

Sweet Second Chances
Evan and Dane were college sweethearts. After a bad break up they haven’t seen each other in years. A run of vandalism in Evan’s neighborhood prompts him to call Dane a former cop for help.Super sweet and swoony second chance romance. Filled with sass and humor the book is satisfying. The story is sweet with a hint of mystery. Dane is a great bad boy with a heart of gold. Evan is the perfect uptight guy with the heart of a rebel. A sexy, fun read.

UGhhh, it was just so cute!
This is a very lighthearted story and I loved every page of it. Dane and Even were so cute and delicious together! It had and gave me some angst, drama, and it all ended with an HEA!! Gotta love that!

Never disapoints!
Love Banners stories!! I get excited each time he releases a new story of funs, sarcastic, real talk characters that you never want the story to end. Evan is complicated, though he puts that on himself which is the perfect balance of Danes easy going life's too short which at first were from a young man in love POV but it only matures more as he got older. Evan learns a lot more about his Ex then ever though he would and learns but then shows Evan what he's doing to himself to please others and not actually living which all Dane wants him to do. The chemistry is explosive with these two and even though they had a lot of history while in college, they can still learn new quirks about each other to make their new relationship work and thrive.

My Bad Ex Boyfriend
Cute and engaging story. Enough feels but not angsty so it's a good juxtaposition to the humor. I love the side characters and hope to see some spin offs. Minus half a star for excessive italic use (forced emphasis is a pet peeve of mine). Well done and worth the read :)

Awesome
What a great read Evan and Dane were truly meant for one another and how true it is that everyone needs good neighbours. Delighted Evan and Dane overcame their difficulties and rekindled their love for one another and eventually got their happy ever after ending

Another gem from Daryl Banner
This is one of the best second chance love stories I’ve read in a long time. As usual, Daryl Banner takes us on an emotional journey with his characters. I was on the edge of my seat, l couldn’t put it down.Regular readers of Daryl’s books might enjoy the reference to Spruce. I love the way Daryl frequently throws in small crossovers to his other books.I highly recommend this book to lovers of romance

Great second chance comedy/romance from Daryl
Great second chance comedy/romance from Daryl Banner. I give it 5 out of 5.Evan James Pryor and Dane Cooper are together in college and become ex-boyfriends towards the end of their college years. They get a second chance at romance 5 years later.I laughed out loud many times at the antics of Dane with his "cupcake" Evan. The characters are good, but not as entertaining as Ryan and Stefan from "Bromosexual" (another second chance romance from Daryl) or Billy and Tanner from "Football Sundae".The other gay characters in "My Bad Ex-Boyfriend" are a bunch of preening peacocks and I found their actions a bit annoying. But I am a sucker for second chance MM romance stories and Dane and Evan provided a good read and a realistic storyline.

A nice story, but not his best
I did like this book - I'm a fan of Daryl Banner's - but I didn't feel as gripped by it as I have with some of his others. I don't mind the relative lack of angst, but somehow I was expecting more of the story, although I did like the characters. And I have to say I cringe every time one of the characters' eyes detach ...
