Too addictive.
So addictive...Play monster hunter for the first time years ago on the DS, Couldn’t really get into it and didn’t get the point. Just running around kill dragon like monsters.. It just wasn’t appealing back then I guess. I did play world for awhile and enjoyed it but for some reason Rise is just amazing! No it doesn’t have a crisp flashy graphics but that’s kind of the charm. I have not been able to put this game down and it actually got me to pick back up the DS version which is great as well.Kind of turned a monster hunter skeptic into an addict.Keep these games coming Capcom!

Fantastic game you can take at your own pace
I was introduced to this game through my sister as well as heard a few other people sharing their thoughts on previous monster hunter games. One of the very best games I've ever played and was also my intro to the Nintendo Switch. Highly recommend to everyone and anyone!

If you want to get into Monster Hunter, try this game
A very good game for people trying to get into Monster Hunter. It combines all the quality of life improvements from World plus the portability of the 3ds games. It has a great variety of monsters and it can be played both with friend and by yourself.

Best Monster Hunter game? Probably.
If you like Monster Hunter then you know what to expect. Hunt monsters, collect parts, craft new equipment from said parts, repeat. The new weapon arts and the addition of the wire bugs that let you zip around are sooooo game changing though that it makes everything feel fresh. If you love Monster Hunter then this game is a must, especially with the expansion.

Essentially "baby's first monster hunter"
Newbies will probably have an easier time getting into this than World/Iceborne (in that perspective alone I'm giving this a generous 4 stars), but Veteran hunters will be quite disappointed with how much they streamlined/removed features. They focused so hard on drawing in new players that they forgot that their long standing fans love of the little details (preparing for a hunt by gathering tools and items is just as important as the hunt itself). There is a near total lack of grinding necessary to earn materials or money, a simplified crafting list, and the offline story ending before you even see the series' flagship monster (rathalos). Some of the new mechanics are neat, though perhaps too easy to execute. But the more I play the more disappointed I get. Eighty hours in and I haven't even glimpsed an elder dragon. The fun canteen scenes that I would always watch start to finish have been replaced by a cutesy tea shop run by a twelve year old (I can't skip these scenes fast enough) which fits the "Japanese" theme of the game but goes against the spirit of the series. They expanded your quest inventory space while simultaneously removing a number of items that have been staples since the very first game (paintballs, bug nets, etc.) so there's no need to manage inventory space any more. They removed several staples such as the kicking mechanic and the aptonoth creatures. The weapon damage numbers (in the weapon status menu) have been changed so much it's impossible to tell what they actually mean anymore. Overall the entire game is far too easy and simple for someone like me to really enjoy (I've been playing since the original on PS2). The only thing that is a straight improvement over World is the addition of the palamutes to compliment the palicos. Everything else is about two steps worse.

I love the Monster Hunter Games including this one
It’s a really fun game, there’s so many monsters to hunt and neat things. I already played through what there is so far and I loved it. I can’t wait for future updates to come in and hopefully bring in more monsters that everyone will love.
