great book
I love this book!. It is funny and very clever. It is fun to read as well as delivering a wonderful message about judging people and also the fact that being in the "in group" may not be all that it is cracked up to be.It is about a magic worm that eats words. Any word that is eaten makes that object dissapear. Ex. If it ate the word 'tree' then all the trees in the world would dissapear. You need to be very careful what words it eats. It is also about wanting to be in the"in group". Kids will love it.I read it with 3rd, 4th and 5th graders and they really enjoyed it.

A Good Book
You should read it too. It was a good book. It was a funny book. It was also sad at the end when they had to get rid of the worm’s power and let him be free.

A good read that prompts discussion
My nine year old really enjoyed this book. It’s such a creative, unique concept that he couldn’t help but be intrigued. It also started some interested conversations about what word/s would you get rid of, knowing that thing would go away forever. Big concepts!

a must read!
I read and had my daughter read this book years ago and never forgot it.Great and very creative story,I now purchased it for my young boys, 11 years later and they loved it.they found the message of the story similar to another book call "The Chocolate Touch",which basically say "be careful what you wish for".

My mom got me this book and it was great. I read it all in 2 days. Very interesting. Can't wait for another Mary Amato book.

Passed down to the next generation
I bought this book over 20 years ago from Ms. Amato when she came to sign at my elementary school. I was the weird kid and this book felt so relatable at the time. I loved the story so much, I've kept it for over two decades. I recently passed the book down to my young boys, and I hope they love it as much as I did.
