I originally ordered this as a joke gift for my sister in law. We had an opposum loose in our yard and her being a vet tech came running over to help however we had nothing to trap it with. Thankfully it decided to leave peacefully and we didnt have to do anything. I ordered this trap not paying attention to the size of it. Its quite small if you are looking to trap an opposum. Lol It will work great for a smaller rodent such as a mouse, hampster, or a rat. It seems to be great quality. My sister in law had a good laugh and said she will bring it into work they will find a use for it. Its a great item I love that it can trap the animal and not harm it in any way.

The cage is sturdy and can be used indoor and outdoor. It's really easy to set up the cage after reading the manual. It took me few minutes to finish the setting. Add some nuts and peanut butter on the pedal and set it at the corner of the basement.I prefer this catch and release cage rather than those chemical ones. Safe to all.

I used this to catch a squirrel. It did catch a squirrel, but caused it to bleed since there isn't much space inside once the door shuts. I believe the pressure plate cut the squirrel as it struggled inside. I'm assuming that people who buy this product would want to transport a live animal to be released somewhere else. This trap doesn't have any carrying handles, so it's difficult to transport a live animal which may bite at your hands. It's also not the easiest to release the animal since the door is spring loaded and you'd have to use a stick to be safe. The trap broke after 2 uses. I'd recommend purchasing a Havahart trap instead of this one. They are higher quality with thicker wire and have a handle where rodents cannot bite you. The triggering mechanism is also sturdier.

Trap is very weak and broke on 1st attempt to catch..Caught a small rodent but side panel was pushed out. Trap is unusable now and missed return window.Very disappointed

I did not think it would work, but the little guy did it's job. I was able to catch the rat that was causing trouble and humanely released it. I do not have the heart to hurt animals and this trap is perfect. I do wish it was a bit bigger and if it had a handle to pick up the trap when the animal is inside, but overall it's great! Very happy!

Still trying to catch the rat that is Terrorizing my chickens one day hopefully I’ll fall for the trap but right now I’m doing nothing but catching small chickens

The cage is large and relatively easy to use. However, it is not good for use indoors (which was my intent). The cage is bascially a lot of wiring which an animal would likely not want to step on (especially a small animal like a mouse). Because there is open wired bottom, anthing attracted would probably poo/pee all over whatever floor or carpet it is on. I left it out for weeks and did not attract a single mouse. The peanut butter I used as bait (as suggested), was very difficult to get off the cage, again, because it is basically a wire cage. I would not recommend this for indoor use and would consider buying something that would be easier to clean. I only gave it two stars because it is easy to use and might be useful for outdoors.
