Nylon tote holds the essentials
I have a very similar Michael Kors purse and was hoping this would be the same size. It's slightly smaller, but still works pretty well. The straps are well attached and comfortable. I love the iPad pocket and that was one of the main reasons I bought the purse. It's lightweight and will be able to carry most of what I need on the plane when traveling. A lightweight sweater tends to just about fill it, but you can still get the essentials in there and maybe a smaller book or a magazine.

Broken Handle / Strap
Overall I really like this handbag. However, one of the handles broke after using the purse for only a few days. I can put it back together but it continues to comes undone all the time, and unfortunately, now I've waited too long to return/exchange it. Also, the description isn't very clear .... this is navy blue, not black.
