I live in Florida. when we have a power outage after a hurricane, it generally last several days or even a week. I live on the seventh floor of my condo and have to use the stairs because we have no generator. The staircase is very dark. I plan on using them as I go up and down the stairs and for any other reason that I might need a good light while keeping my hands-free. I’m 82 so keeping my hands-free is rather important.

You cannot find a better deal on a headlamp! Well constructed, lite weight, & puts out a lot of light! If you want a basic great headlamp, this is it.

I bought a 2 pack of headlamps which were very inexpensive, only about 20 dollars for the pair. I do some hobby work and need spot lighting. They give ok light but it is over a wide area and one of the two died after only using it briefly. It didn't surprise me given cheap Chinese products/quality control. Not sure if they are covered by warranty but 10 dollars is not worth the effort of getting off the couch. So I looked for something more substantial. I decided on these. When getting flashlights/headlights I refuse to purchase anything that uses AAA batteries because they are garbage and anyone designing these thing should know that and anything without removable batteries. Non removable batteries will all eventually fail making your device useless. These use 3 standard AA batteries. I always have a set of charged AA so I can swap them out any time making battery life not really important. The light is focused and adjustable so that is a plus. So far so good on these. Stay tuned

Who would have thought I'd get lucky and find TWO quality items from China-Zon (gardening tools was the other)! And... I think they were even purchased in the same week! Wow! Lottery Win Right There!I set out to find the perfect headlamp for my nighttime summer gardening (my FAVORITE time of day to work with my plants) as my husband's headlamp is way too big... And quite frankly a piece of junk. LolI needed my future headlamp to have both wide and soft straps; so to not pull, tangle, or break my hair. I also needed easy adjustment because having the perfect fit means no headachesI looked at many lamps both off/on the China-Zon platform. I opted to go with these because it seemingly met all my criteria; including being made in the USA.Plus, I knew this would be my last China-Zon purchase so I figured what the heck? Right?Well I am so happy to report that the lamp has both met and exceeded my expectations. Its comfortable and very easy to adjust as needed. I have had no problems with the straps bothering my hair either.I love that the lamp piece can rotate up and down. I also like that the light focus is adjustable and very defined; even at its widest point. I also like that the forehead piece is comfortableBonus Points for having 3 light intensity settings!And finally, this lamp just has an indescribable quality of excellence. Every component on it just feels durable and well made.I'm going to find this particular lamp from another seller (not Amazon) and buy one for my husband so I can throw out that piece of trash he has! I also plan to buy one for my 7 yr old daughter because she enjoys gardening at night with me... And yes it adjusts small enough for her head!PS- I've been using this lamp continuously this summer and the light is as bright as ever!

The product seemed to be aimed for the outdoor enthusiast. I use it for hobby and DIY projects. The biggest problems with most head lamps are brightness, area coverage and uniformity. I thought it might work well when I saw the big convex lens and hoped that it would be bright enough to help when needed. It exceeded my expectations. It is very bright! I am not sure about the 1000 lumens because the manufacture states that it takes 3 amps to reach that level. I don't know how long 4 AA batteries would last at that level of discharge but I don't think very long. But really forget about that it is very bright. I usually have to use it at the lower level because my work is close up and the light is actually too bright. However it can be really useful when you are trying to work on something when there is a strongly back lit. Then all this brightness works like no other I have seen. For coverage it throws a 1 foot diameter beam at a distance of only 1 foot. Suffice it to say that it lights up everything I need no matter how close. The third outstanding feature is its uniformity. The brightness level is the same across the entire diameter of the beam for great ergonomics while working of small items.To round the review I give it good marks on construction and design. The headband is strong enough to stay on under any circumstance, the lamp is made of aluminum, the wire from the batteries to the lamp is coiled so it stays out of the way. To adjust the light focus simply pull the lens out to reduce beam diameter. When lens is pulled out it throws the beam a good distance. For example I was able to light up a number pad very brightly on a wall from around 200 feet away. Lens can be adjusted down to accommodate most any situation.Small grips are: To operate just push a button switch on the lamp. It turns on bright then you must cycle through dimmed light and strobe to turn off. I don't need the strobe and I usually only need one light level so a separate on off button and selection switch would be nice, the lens is a little tough to pull out. However it would rather that than slip adjustment.
