The box is made of wood and measures 5.5 x 8 x 3.5 and is a very popular size. I create the box by first sanding and painting it, then applying the designs that are printed on a parchment paper to give it a vintage look. A clear coat finishes the box and seals it. This box makes a wonderful gift and can be used for jewelry, cards or any number of treasures and keepsakes. The Claddagh Design is depicted by two hands clutching a heart complete with crown and epitomizes the expression of lasting love and eternal friendship. The heart symbolizes Love, the hands Friendship and the crown Fidelity. This was my first new design for 2014. The Celtic Claddagh is done in pen and ink. The original design took me a week to complete and I have decided to add a custom option for this box. On the front is a space where I will put whatever you would like. I have several options available or you can compose a message of your own.

Melanie Fuller of Dragon Star Creations is the real deal, people: a darn good artist and craftswoman who enjoys her work and treats her customers well. My fiance is a huge fan of the Harry Potter franchise, and every now and then we see a totally tricked-out box filled with magic potions and glowing bottles and it just looks so awesome. And every year now I've decided I want to get her one, because I know it would put her through the roof. But each time, as I look, I find that there's something missing. And slowly my enthusiasm wanes as that missing something becomes more and more poignant.This year I figured it out. It's her. My fiance. She's missing.What magic we have known in our lives is wrought when she and I are together; a transformation takes place, as Miss Fuller was happy to write on the front of the box. "I accept the wishes of two; I give back the magic of being one." And so I decided I would buy this box (it drew my eye from all the others thanks to its beautiful artwork and our mutual suspicion that the Deathly Hallows were based off the Claddagh Ring meanings). I needed a little extra room for the stanzas of the poems I had written, so I contacted Miss Fuller privately, and she was all too happy to accommodate me. And, entirely of her own volition, she offered to include a Deathly Hallows symbol into the design on the top of the box! She's just too darned nice!With poems and custom design (and a letter from Hogwarts apologizing for the delay in the post) I think she'll have a smashing birthday this year. And after that, we will work on adding to the box. Black lights, bottles, potions, and all sorts of little touches that make it a work of love. Then it will truly be the magic box that we have wanted. I will upload pictures of its progress as time allows.
