Great lights for under cabinets and toe kicks
These lights are perfect for under my cabinets and for my toe kicks. They are easy to install and I was able to hide the plug behind my stove. Even though they are individual lights in strips they project like a bar and they look great. The remote feels a lil cheap but works well enough and I thought the kit was a good price. Keep in mind if you cut the strip you will not be able to extend it from there. It is cheaper to get two full kits if you need more strips so just do that instead of getting individual 4 ft strips. You most likely will need the Flexible Light Connector Kit if you are not making a strait run.

L O V E T H E S E !
I ordered these to place under my daughter's loft bed - around the underneath side - to add lighting. Well, her bed hasn't arrived, yet (we knew it wouldn't - it isn't scheduled for a few weeks), but we decided to open the boxes just to see how they worked. We put them together (you'll need to purchase the starter kit for them to work - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008COVFUA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00) in a jiffy, and they work GREAT! My daughter has them draped around a book case, right now - awaiting the bed. The remote control allows them to change colors - 15 colors + white! I'm trying to decide where I could use some! We may have to get her another set. They can be hooked together, either end-to-end OR, if you need for them to go around a corner, they come with little connectors. They go together in seconds - then simply plug into any 110 wall outlet! They'd be terrific in kitchens, under cabinets, over cabinets, up stairways, +++ - the possibilities are endless! We LOVE these!

Cool lights, very pleased
We ran these under our kitchen cabinets, and we love them. Ended up buying two sets because we didn't want to try to hide a connector cord across the sink/window area. We planned for these during our kitchen remodel and had our contractor put outlets inside our new cabinets so we could hide the plugs. We simply drilled a small hole underneath and poked the remote sensor out. I used self-adhesive velcro to attach the remote controls underneath the cabinets on either side of the kitchen so they have an out-of-the-way hiding place and they don't get lost. We bought an additional kit of various connectors and cords directly from Sylvania to help with the linking/bending/turning all the way around our kitchen. I could NOT get the adhesive to stick underneath our cabinets. I have friends with these same lights who didn't have this problem, and since our cabinets were brand new, I have no idea what was causing them not to stick. I had to buy some of that double-sided foam tape to attach them. Two other problems and my fixes for them... the connector I used to go around the corner cabinet was heavy and kept pulling the adhesive down and causing the lights to sag, so I just stapled a twist-tie to the cabinet an it holds it firmly in place (I attached a photo). Also, I was having problems with every connection wiggling itself apart, so I just wrapped a bit of electrical tape around each connection point. I realize now that I had to do a lot of rigging and hacking to get these to work for us, but it was worth the effort.

They could make this even better
Reason for purchasing:I wanted to experiment with HDTV bias lighting, because of reading how it can help black levels when watching movies in the dark. I knew when purchasing these that they weren't 6500k (daylight) white, but I figured I would find a use some fun use for them even if I didn't like them behind the tv.-Initial impression for bias lighting is they need to be very bright to make a difference in the black level. At the brightness level required to make the blacks seem like ink, I am not sure if it is worth it. This could be just how I feel about bias lighting in general and not about this specific product.-The IR receiver will conflict with your regular remotes. They will turn on when I turn my tv on. Fortunately the IR blaster I use for everything else cannot hit the led strip IR receiver. This could affect you if you are using these lights anywhere near where you point your TV/AV remotes though.Pros:-Looks very awesome behind the TV-Adds depth. Hard to explain but the TV picture seems to pop more when the lights are on.-Able to dim LED's. This is great since full brightness is way to bright.-15 colors including white is fun. You could do some fun things with the lights during holidays-Alternating modes would be cool during a party or some gathering.Cons:-Power cord too short. You could use an extension cord but depending on where you wish to use these lights the stock cord length could be limiting.-The 90 degree adapters could be a little longer or more flexible. I needed two of the 4 strips for the TV. I ended up using all 3 adapters so I could have one near the top and one near the bottom of the TV. Could also create issues if you need a some space to get the next set of lights further away. You could potentially mod this. It is just 4 metal pins connecting each strip/adapter.-Non-programmable. You get different modes but you are stuck with the colors they chose. For instance the strobe which fades in and out of one color is white only. There is one that alternates but is red green blue only. Then there is all color fade. I really think they missed out here. If they would allow you to pick colors to go between you could do some holiday themed things, like switch between red/green for Christmas. Alternate between Aqua and Orange during gameday if you are a Miami Dolphins fan!In the end I am happy with the purchase, and they have been fun to experiment with. Buying more would largely depend on my experience modding it using something like a raspberry pi or arduino. The connectors on the led strip are a set of 4 pins (Red, Green, Blue, Power). So it seems like there could be potential to add the programability that is lacking. If you google LED strip lighting with raspberry pi you will find some cool things people have done with products such as these.

THESE LIGHTS ROCK
Had these on a front porch this summer (purchased two starter sets from BJs for $60 bucks each). These lights were used for our stairs going t the second floor. They serve three purposes....(1) They light the stairs better than any hallway light ever could (2) They serve as a night light since we can put them on a darker color and dim to the lowest setting (3) They serve as ambiance for our family room while watching TV. I highly recommend these lights to anyone. I have told many friends about these lights and they love them. All of the people that have seen them in our home loved them. They are a great product and run for pennies a month.

Great little lights
These lights work great for adding fun to parties and TV nights. The remote and settings are handy, and a really easy set up, as they can be installed anywhere.

Nice colours, simple to set up and use.
So far these lights are working fine. My only complaint is that the instructions say you can connect up to 10 strip lights and the starter pack comes with 3 and each expansion pack comes with 2. That means to get 10 strips total you need to buy 4 expansion packs along with the starter pack which leaves you with 11 strips. I ended up connecting all 11 and it still worked so I'm not sure about that 10 strip limit.
