It allows about the same amount of light to filter in as the old mini blinds but it has a slightly softer glow so that is nice.
Living in an apartment with old mini blinds, I was tired of washing them. I showed these to the owner and she had no problem with me replacing the old blinds with these. They look much nicer than I expected. I washed the area for the adhesive with TSP first and have had no problems with them falling down, even in the bathroom where the shower creates steam.I bought the 'natural' color. It allows about the same amount of light to filter in as the old mini blinds but it has a slightly softer glow so that is nice. I do wish these had more color choices.Downside that I have found - after hanging for a while, the pleats seem to stretch out, if that makes any sense. I trimmed the length so they would just barely sit on the window sill and a few weeks later they were a little too long again, which causes the bottom part to pooch out a little. Another trim fixes that problem. As for raising them with the clips so you can see out, I'm not sure how that is supposed to work. Maybe if you did it every day, the pleats would retain their shape better and make folding them up easier. Right now I just have them in my bedroom and bathroom so I don't care about seeing out those windows and they look just as nice even as the pleats stretch a bit.

Cheap, easy solution to cover windows.
I despise hanging any kind of window cover. It never goes well. I was skeptical of these at first, but they were EXACTLY as easy as promised to install. Seriously, even if you are all thumbs you can do this. You literally take it out of the packages, cut it with a pair of sharp scissors to fit the interior width of your window, and stick it to the top inside the frame. DONE. No kidding. There is no string pull, so I either just leave it all the way down if the room doesn't get much use, or use the clips (included, and kind of like clothespins) to leave at half mast. It is not durable, as it is just thick paper, so I wouldn't put in a small child's room, but for a grownup household it is perfect. Especially if you are no Martha Stewart when it comes to decorating. And they are SO inexpensive that if one tears, just pull out another--they give you plenty in the box. Love it!

Adhesive failed after 3 weeks
while no one will ever confuse these with Hunter Douglas shades, for the value and ease of installation they can't be beat. I purchased the "natural" color - and I think I would have preferred the white as these are the color of paper bags, but only up close, and how often are you that up close to your shades?I bought these to go behind filmly curtains, and they looked fine. But after 3 weeks, the adhesive came undone. I emailed the company, but no response. fortunately, Amazon CS helped and refunded me the full price. It's possible the adhesive failed because the room I installed them in is pretty humid.

First batch was amazing, second purchase, useless and worthless
These temporary shades have lasted for over a year and they’re fabulous. But one of the shades was damaged so I bought a new box thinking I would replace just one.It turns out the color was different so I replaced all 5 shades (they are on the same wall.) But. I was just as careful to prep for a clean surface, using alcohol, and less than a week later these new shades are falling down. Now I need to figure out another tape solution.Editing to reduce to one star, as my replacement double-sided tape also failed and after repeated falls the shades are wrinkled. It’s only been a couple of weeks and this no longer seems like an inexpensive solution- more like an expensive and time consuming way to be left with a garbage bin full of sticky useless paper. The original lasted more than a year - the replacement was useless. Talk to your adhesive suppliers because there is no price point where “useless” is a good deal.

Minimalist and Chic
As several reviewers have commented: I know they are supposed to be temporary, but I really like the look. Cutting them to size was a bit labor intensive - I used a pretty sharp kitchen knife, but a nice serrated edge is better for this job. They were easy to measure for and to adhere. I adhered them to the metal window frame and not to paint. I am pretty sure the adhesive would damage your paint job. They are a bit tedious if you want to raise and lower them frequently, but if you keep them up or down most of the time you will not have any complaints. The clips that are provided are cute and work well to secure the blinds.

Easy to install
We had a new bathroom window that needed immediate privacy. This did the trick until I could find something more permanent. Very easy to custom cut and hang.
