Is their a large noticeable difference between the shades 'classic ivory' and 'porcelain ivory'?

Yes. Porcelain Ivory is a lot lighter and very pink. Classic Ivory is deeper and neutral to yellow toned.

Ordered with cosmetic brush to help with application but do not like the crumbliness of the foundation. Is it supposed to be like this?

Oh, dear, I can't imagine applying this creamy foundation with a brush! Using my fingers, a small?//tiny? amount spreads over my skin nicely. Perfect, long-lasting, coverage. This is my favorite make-up!

is this for dry skin?

I have oily skin but considering the texture of the makeup I would say it would work well with dry skin too.
