AquaPill AP75 15,000 Gallon WinterPill for Swimming Pool Closings, 2-Pack

This product works perfectly! I had an above ground pool installed in the summer of 2018 and it was my first time being a pool owner. I was very nervous about doing something wrong when closing it for the winter. I done my research and decided to use one of these winter pills along with my pool closing chemical kit. I reopened my pool on Wednesday May 29, 2019 and was very nervous about lifting the cover off and finding nasty dirty water. To my surprise when I saw the water it was crystal clear! My neighbor who also has a pool kept commenting on how clear my water was and telling me how her pool water was green when they opened it. I’m a firm believer that this winter pill along with the kit of closing chemicals I added kept the water crystal clear. I’ll never go without this when closing my pool for the winter. The picture that I included was taken immediately after the cover was removed which had been on the pool for 8 months. If there are any negative reviews regarding this product it’s because they did not do something correctly when closing their pool.

We have used these for a number of years in conjunction with other pool closing products as we have a long winter and extra time release is needed. The only reason we gave it 3 stars it that one of the pills came pre-punctured and had leaked some of the product inside the plastic packaging. We were late in closing the pool this year and didnt want to wait around for a replacement.

I have a small In-Ground pool (16x30). I have a mesh cover. In years past, when I took the cover off, the pool would be black (even after treating with algaecide and super-shocking it before closing). Within a few days of opening though, I was able to get the pool back up and crystal clear blue.Last fall I bought the AquaPill. First the tool to puncture the pill was missing from the package. No problem, I simply punctured it with a nail. When I opened my pool this spring, the pool was still extremely dark green (almost black, but still a slight improvement). I went through a normal opening procedure. What I found was that some of the sediment in the pool is now EXTREMELY sticky and adheres to the concrete in the bottom of my pool. It took several weeks of Brush-Vacuum-Backwash-Brush-Vacuum-Backwash-Brush-Vacuum-Backwash etc.... to remove this sediment from the bottom of the pool. This has never happened before buying the AquaPill.Bottom Line:Before AquaPill - Black pool at opening...2-3 days of work and "normal" opening procedures and pool is ready to use!After AquaPill - Dark Green (almost black) pool at opening...3-4 WEEKS of work before the pool was really ready to use!This product made the opening of my pool much more difficult! I won't be using it again!!! It may be ok for a vinyl pool but not for a concrete one!

I live in NJ I have a 9ft deep 20x40 pool. i bought these and put one in my pool every 2 months starting this past November.opened the pool April 25 2019 that was 7 months that the pool was covered with me throwing in one of these every other month even thought it says it covers 30,000 gallons. I have about 33,000 so that is why i used so many.needless to say the pool was green when opened and the deep end had 3 inches of algae and worms. it was not as bad as using nothing but not worth the money.my neighbor buys Clorox at the dollar store and pours 4 gallons week and his pool when opened was a little green that is it.that is what im going to do this next winter

The item came leaking, but didn't seem to have too much out of ball, so I was able to puncture it and send it on its way. When I went to open the pool this spring....everything was totally GREEN and cloudy. I have been "st it" for 4 weeks, now, balancing and cleaning and filtering. I will NEVER try this product again. It was a dud for me. Tried contacting the seller many times, with no response. Feel it could have had a better outcome. Gave it the benefit of the doubt, but in reading, now, other reviews....other folks had trouble, as well, and it looks like no one cares except to get sales. Not from me any more. Beware. There is a lot better out there.

I think people believe this to turn your pool clear by itself. The key here is to have your pool clear & balanced when you close it. I’m OCD with my chemicals. I had everything completely balanced out before I threw this pill in. No cover on our pool either (it kept falling in) it’s been almost 4 months & it’s still clear. We live in humid Louisiana too. I love this product.

Tough to say if this works. I threw one of these in my pool last year when I closed it. My pool was pretty clear when I opened it this summer. But...I also cleaned the heck out of it and shocked it to death before closing it. So maybe it would have been clear whether I used this or not. Tough to tell. I’ll probably buy it again though just to be safe.I’ll say that when I got it, it was already leaking so it was a mess to open. Instructions were soaked in chemicals. That wasn’t cool.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. This product did not work at all. The "pill" was still full of its contents despite following all of the directions. When we uncovered the above-ground pool 6 months later, the water was green and full of algae. We have had to drain all of the water out. I do not recommend this product at all. It was a waste of money and time. By the time we uncovered the pool and found out that it didn't work. it was too late to get our money back from Amazon.

In early October I over chlorinated our 10,000 gallon above ground pool, threw this Pill Pool, and then winterized and covered it. Here we are 7+ months later. I took the cover off, and the water is clear and nice with just a touch too high chlorine. Honestly, the chems are close enough that I could have gone swimming immediately after removing the cover. 100% chance I will buy this again this fall, but I probably won't over chlorinate my pool too much this time as the pill seemed to handle it just fine.

I love this ball, I tried it last year for the first time and when I opened my pool up in the spring the water was very clear and it only took a couple of days to have my pool ready for swimming.

When I saw the size of the product (smaller than a baseball) I returned the product. There are about 3 ounces of product in the ball. There is no possible way that this product will clean an entire pool of thousands of gallons.I do not beleive the claims of this product.

Used it later than recommended. Will definitely use next year. This year our pool was easier to open though but it was still green sludge because we didn't use these from the beginning.

Made closing my pool very easy, and spring opening was a dream. I used 2 of these units for 40,000L pool after reading the comments. May try using just 1 unit this year. We have a salt water pool and this was a huge help.
