Quite good and very useful for specific needs but not a be-all end-all potato product
It has been years since I purchased dried potato cubes, perhaps as much as 35 years. They have changed for the better (fresher flavor). Glad I found these. If you want to extend something like a can of corned beef hash, or add potato dices to soups or stews, these are just about perfect. My only "beef" with them is that I needed to thoroughly rehydrate them when using in anything already fairly dry. Soups are okay as long as you give them about 30 minutes, otherwise my strong suggestion is to boil about a cup of water for reach half cup of these dices, pour in, stir several times over about 15 minutes, and then put in something you need to cook for at least 15 more minutes. These are, after all, raw potatoes that have been thoroughly dried. For an extra bit of interest I have tried adding a quarter teaspoon of salt to the hydrating water as well as using several herbs to infuse flavor right into the potatoes. Also, be aware that these are quite small. About 1/8-inch when dry and 50% bigger when hydrated. In other words, if you need good sized chunks of potato is something, these are not the solution.

Great taste!
I bought these to keep on hand for those times when I am making soup and realize the last of my fresh potatoes are not good anymore, or if I run out. I thought to myself "just how good can a dehydrated potato taste"? Well, when this arrived earlier today I opened the canister and put a few in a small saucepan with water and boiled them for a few minutes then tasted them, they taste like really fresh potatoes and instead of either buying loose potatoes and paying sky high prices because we can't finish a whole bag of potatoes before they go bad, or buying the whole bag at the lower price and having them go bad before we will use them all I think from now on I will simply depend on these for those times when I use potatoes. While the price may seem high to most people the way I look at it is almost half a bag of potatoes get thrown out around here all the time or I'm left paying more than a dollar a pound for the loose potatoes and those too often have to get discarded before we use them.........with these dehydrated on the shelf we will have them when we need them and none will hit the trash can, thus actually saving us some money.

Love These!
I work in the backcountry of Montana and coordinate meal planning for camping groups. We like to provide high-quality meals (working hard on trails and camping), but must balance the limited weight and space for packing on horses and mules. We tried several brands this summer for dehydrated and freeze-dried food. This brand was one of the best we tried and seemed slightly more economically priced. All staff seemed to prefer the freeze-dried versions versus dehydrated food: the taste and nutrients were better for freeze-dried. Sometimes dehydrated food can lose flavor and have chewy consistency even when re-hydrated. The potato bits were great to add in breakfast burritos easily with some bacon bits and eggs. Handy to have at camp!

Dried Potatoes Can't be Beat
My son and I loved these! We used the whole container up in about two weeks they were so handy and useful--and tasted good, tooo! He liked making soup and stews out of the, I liked reconstituting them for hashbrowns for breakfast. I ordered a #10 can because the dried potatoes are a lot more convenient than fresh potatoes--I have a bit of arthritis in my hands and it's hard to peel potatoes anymore, and besides, it's like keeping a hundred pounds of potatoes in your pantry without having to worry about them sprouting and going all nasty and smelly.

Awesome!
For me, this is the best way to deal with potatoes. Non-gmo. Already prepared, so no peels to deal with. No wasted potatoes, such as old ones remaining in a bag too long, etc. Anytime at all I just pop a serving or more in my QUALITY rice cooker (made in JAPAN) and in about one hour I have them prepared ready to eat by doing nothing but adding water and pushing a button. They remain good to eat all day long in my quality rice cooker. What a wonderful discovery. Half the time in the past, when contemplating having potatoes, I would put it off as I did not want to deal with all the extra preparation; peeling rinsing, pan, utensils, oils and the cleanup. I feel as if I have made a major discovery. (tip: Harmony House sweet potatoes and corn make a nice combo. i add coconut oil; a tad when cooking and add like butter after.)

Potatoes So-So
Takes forever to hydrate. Flavor was all potato which is good. The size bottle was much smaller than I had antipated so it did not have as many helpings as stated. Would work for soups etc. in an emergency.

Nice to know that I no longer have to worry about rotten potatoes!
Ordered these last month & they are very good. No problems with them plumping up (I let them soak for at least a couple of hours). Can use them in anything or everything, even fried them like hash browns once. Kids like them too. Will buy again.Does come in a very large bag, depends on how much your family eats. (you must know how to divide it up & use Mylar bags & food grade buckets if your family is small)

Not a good backup for potatoes unless you need very little potato flavor or starch for your recipe
These are decent for dried potatoes, but they are so small that you need to use a lot to get any potato flavor in your soups or stews. I guess they are this small so they can be fully dried, but this is not the easy "oops, I"m out of potatoes" fix I was looking for. I won't order them again.

Excellent product
I found it a good idea to pour boiling water onto the potato and leave to soften up and you do need to cook it for a short time as the potato is raw. It was great in soup.
