Kidney Stone diet doesn't allow "real" Vanilla Extract (high in oxylates)
Who would think that imitation vanilla would be hard to find? Among other ingredients, one item that my spouse needed to change in his diet was from "real" Vanilla Extract (used mostly in his morning oatmeal) to "imitation" Vanilla after he developed kidney stones caused by oxylate foods. Now that we bought this online (Amazon), we are seeing it on store shelves again. Must have been a seasonal grocery thing. Works great as a substitute to real Vanilla Extract.

Good Value , Nice Flavor
I bought this to flavor coffee. I don't like sugar in my coffee. I like the vanilla flavor in coffee but not the sweetness of syrup. This is just right. I also use Almond or hazel extracts instead of syrup for the same reason. If you like a flavor boost in the coffee but don't like all the sweetness, a bit of extract is the way to go. And you control how much flavor to add without any sugar. When I was a kid, my mother would flavor milk with plain vanilla or almond to make it more palatable. It's a good way to add a touch of flavor and sweet touch without sugar.I use real vanilla extract for baking and custards, but I am sure Mccormick brand imitation vanilla is fine for baking too, just use a little more to taste. That's the cook's choice. When I make cocoa from real cocoa poweder, I use half the sugar and add this vanilla. Voila, a hot drink with lots of chocolate flavor but not too sweet. All together, a useful product for me and 32 oz was good value for the money.

A great, affordable alternative to real vanilla extract.
Recent climate problems in Madagascar have raised the price of "real" vanilla extract thru the roof, so I switched to this imitation product for my home-made yogurt. I could not be happier with the results. The ingredients in this are nearly the same, just from different sources. Most commercial vanilla products use imitation flavor, and it works well for me too.

McCormick Vanilla
I tried the mexican vanilla (Dannci) and just couldn't do it! Can't go wrong with McCormick. Even for it being imitation, the taste can't be beat.

For taste and cost, an acceptable compromise.
I use this on a daily basis, (and have been doing so for a couple of years) in order to flavor a smoothy I must drink for medical purposes. The flavor is good enough and similar to real vanilla extract, although no as as"vanilla-y" The con is that it is fairly weak and so you have to use a lot to really taste it. The main pro is the price relative to the real stuff, and all and all, it does the job adequately and cost effectively. PS- There is absolutely no unpleasant taste or after-taste.

Delicious and cost effective!
Wonderful flavor and no artificial aftertaste. Saves money on usin more expensive vanilla for recipes where it really won't make much of a difference, such as baking. Often I find the stronger flavor of this stuff preferable to pure vanilla extract. It just tastes the way vanilla "should."

Vanilla is great! Shipping sucked
The vanilla was sent in an unpadded bag...lid was shattered...good thing the seal on bottle held...a box with padding would have been better

Good Alternative
With vanilla becoming so expensive, this is a good everyday use alternative for people who use vanilla a lot. Save the good stuff for special occations.
