Can the 12# feeder work for a medium size dog? What about a corgi? Or is this one to small?

The opening for a pets head to feed is 8” W X 4 D - It’s perfect for cats and very small dogs.

How much food does it drop at once?

It is a continual flow of food, it does not release a certain amount per day. It is for dogs on full feed. Our dog eats less, when on full feed than when fed twice a day.

Is this size ok for a lhasa apso or will it be too small?

Yes that would be fine. My lab and German shorthair share a small one.

Can the magnetic door be removed (how easy?) so it stays open?

I really like this feeder I have standard and toy aussie pups and they have no trouble with this feeder very easy to use and clean. the smaller size is perfect for me to handle.The door does not stay open but young pups have no trouble with it. To start them i put a rock in it for a few days and it held it open can also be leaned back too.
