This VTech audio monitor is absolutely perfect, and it has become one of our essential pieces of travel gear. For the price, which is very accessible compared to others, the quality and reliability you get are absolutely valuable. We have always traveled with it, and it has never let us down. The best feature is the wireless parent monitor, which is designed for true portability. The unit itself is the perfect size to fit in your hand or back pocket, and it has a handy belt clip to attach to your pants, so you can be completely hands-free. This makes it perfect to move around with. Whether we're at a vacation rental or just at home, I can be on the patio or in another room and still keep a close 'eye' (or ear, rather) on our little one. The sound is clear, and you have full control over the volume. A genius feature is the visual light monitor; even if it's noisy where I am, the lights on the unit indicate the level of sound in the baby's room. The only perk to be aware of is that the battery on the parent unit only lasts for a couple of hours, so you need to remember to connect it to charge after every use. For us, that's a small trade-off for the freedom it provides. It's fantastic for travel because it's so simple—no Wi-Fi or complicated setup needed. For the peace of mind it provides, it's a 5-star product all the way.

Love this. We bought this as our laundry room is in the basement and we can't hear when the cycles finishes. This is very sensitive and picks up everything, so no more guessing about when to switch machines. It is so sensitive, I would have no fears using it to listen for a baby or even an adult to keep check on them. Very compact in size, too. Well made and sturdy. A bargain for the money.

It works as it should. I needed this not for a baby well not a baby baby I got it for my African gray because she has been getting more and more afraid of noises and movement so I wanted to put the monitor near her to see if I could detect any issues going on. I can hear her just fine all the way across the house and ancillary noises as well. I have yet to detect anything disturbing that might be bothering her but I imagine it's not a constant thing so I will be monitoring the issue more closely and this is definitely going to help me do that. There are two pieces the listening part is plug in only because it is a stationary item you will not be moving it therefore you only need to plug it in and put it 3 ft away from baby or my case my bird. The parent part has a battery and AC cord the battery is only meant to be very temporary for short-term moving with you two different locations but not for long term. They pair together quickly and each time the parent monitor and the baby monitor are disconnected, both disconnected there are no audible alarms, when the baby monitor is no longer connected to the parent monitor the parent monitor will make a noise every so often. It will only stop if you bring the baby monitor and the parent monitors connection to each other. There are different volume levels that can be set and those are only on the parent monitor. Both do have their own on off buttons and you just need to press and hold until the light goes out. You can also have the volume off if needed as there are a line of lights across the top that will light up when a noise is heard and this is their visual without audible feature. Otherwise those will light up as well as you will hear what is happening at the baby monitor when the volume is on. a portable system that is easy to use and designed to make it easy to use. It has a hard outer shell and looks to be durable. It has a design that is similar to most like items out there.

Works absolutely perfect. Baby is upstairs and the parent unit is downstairs. Can hear the slightest squeak from Baby. Best thing about it...it's not high tech. Love it.

We’ve been really happy with this VTech monitor. One thing that stood out right away is the distance range. Our daughter’s room sits all the way at the end of the hallway and this monitor still picks up everything clearly without any connection issues. The sound quality is solid and the volume can get very loud on the highest setting. That might be a bit much for some people, but honestly it’s a big plus if you’re using it as a baby monitor. If your kiddo needs you in the middle of the night, there’s no chance you’ll miss it. The setup is simple, the lights make it easy to see the connection status, and it has been a dependable monitor for keeping an ear on our little one. If you need something with strong range and plenty of volume, this one definitely does the job. 👍

I bought this in December 2025 in writing this review in July 2026. In the beginning these were great and worked to keep at the “grandparents” house. It is now seven months later and these devices do not hold any charge and are not reliable to stay on. Well, they are pretty cheap. It’s definitely something to consider if you’re looking for a longer-term solution.

Works very well! Installed it so I can hear what is happening in the garage, on the other side of the house. It works well and there really isn't any static.

I definitely find this product great value for the price. I can clearly and easily hear if my child is crying or just fussing. Sound is very clear. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that other very expensive brands do but this does a great job if you just want to know if your baby is crying or not. Highly recommend.

After we got this monitor, we have gained our freedom to work in our terrace office, when our kids sleep at night. It has a good range and is very reliable. It it very easy to use too. But For battery use, it doesnt last long. The only thing is make sure you turn it off when not in use, otherwise people can hear unwanted conversations. 😅
