Q: Will these go through a metal detector without setting it off?

The walk-through metal detectors I’ve seen have adjustable sensitivity, but I haven’t set off a metal detector with these boots on. I can’t tell you 100%, but I didn’t have any trouble working in the data center world.

Q: Are these wide square toe?

Yes. If you need wide width get the EE in what ever size you wear.

Q: Why are there so many colors that all look exactly the same? Are they actually different? The size I need is only available in the -4 color.

Whoever created the listing didn’t do the best job. They are all the same color, oily distressed brown. I’m not sure why they put numbers with them but whatever size you need should be available.
