I am from Norway, born, bred and raised and THIS is the cheese I grew up with all my life!!!Really, this brown cheese (brunost) is the staple of Norwegian diet and the hardest thing about not being in Norway is not having access to this cheese.Well, now I do! I am SO excited to be able to buy this cheese in bulk the way I can do that here. The price is not bad at all for this kind of cheese, I've bought it before and I will come back again for more when I run out.This cheese is a sweet cheese, you should have a cheese slicer for it because it tastes best when sliced off in thinner slices. I eat it on bagels (it is REALLY great on blueberry bagels), on bread, on waffles (Norwegian waffles but still...any waffle will do), on crackers, on lefse (of course! If I can recommend one, please try Countryside Lefse, it's truly the Norwegian taste) or just eat a slice or two for a quick snack without anything else. For an extra treat, try adding a dollop of jam on top of your cheese (I prefer raspberry or strawberry jam, those go best with this cheese.)Drinkwise, this cheese pairs really great with either orange juice or milk. (Yep, if I don't have orange juice or milk in the house, there will be no satisfaction in eating brunost..... ;-) )Anyway, I love this seller, they ship the cheese fast and with a freezer pack included so that if you're not home when your package arrives, it'll still stay cool in there for some time. I've ordered cheese from here twice now, super happy camper both times and I will come back for more.If you want a taste of Norway, or if you are Norwegian and you MISS the taste of Norway, look no further. As part of a business trip in 2018, I had the pleasure to fly to Norway during an epic two week European trip. Unlike the rest of my stops sans one friend in the UK, I actually stayed with my business partners at their vacation home in eastern Norway. Part of my dining experience was, of course, home-based breakfast, lunch and dinner with these fine folks and that's where I was introduced to the beauty that is Norwegian Brown Cheese.In full disclosure, as an Italian, I have no shame in admitting that cheeses of many shapes and colors and I have a life-long emotional connection with one another. It's rare that I dislike a cheese -- and Norwegian Brown Cheese is no exception. Sweet, with a bit of a salty tang towards the end, Norwegian Brown cheese stands in stark contrast to the cheddars, the Swiss, and other cheese of around the world. However, that doesn't mean it is any less than those kinds either! It just has a unique play between firmness, softness, sweet and savory.Fast forward nearly a year since that trip. Left with an impression that will forever stay with me, the Norwegian Brown Cheese was nowhere found here in the US that I had looked, even in the speciality shops. I could get my Swedish fixings from IKEA, but no Norwegian Brown Cheese.And then, I discovered this vendor, read the reviews and took a gamble.It was a gamble that paid off. My Norwegian Brown Cheese cravings that had lasted so long, were satisfied, not unlike a pregnant woman getting her dill pickle and vanilla ice ream while resting on a plump soft couch with nobody nearby to sneak a bite of either.I bought 3lbs, and I really hope it lasts more than a month, because my husband and two of my three kids like it too! May have to go bigger next order!

This was shipped lighting fast and the packaging was out of Star Wars. This felt like it came out of the refrigerator extra cold. Perfect temperature. Your company obviously have this down right.I would highly recommend this company. They are not playing. Great value for the money. I will be ordering from you again. Amazing.

This whey cheese is very delicious--it even looks good, like a hunk of beautiful butterscotch (though it doesn't taste like butterscotch). It is very tasty and would make a great addition to any cheese bar or just as a single appetizer. Tastes good with fruit also. I gave some to my Norwegian friend for Christmas and he loves it. Hope you enjoy this cheese as much as I do.

My daughter and son in law mentioned they loved this cheese they had tasted in their travels. Yummy, it is super sweet! Kudos to the cheese company contracted from PA as I didn’t expect until after the new year but the cheese was delivered before Christmas! Thanks for superb service.

Seller advertises 3lbs, sends a clearly labeled 2.5lb block. Weighed at home and it is indeed 2.5lbs.

My mother is Norwegian and brings gjetost with her every visit. Now she is here to stay and we were happy to find a better and cheaper option then 4oz packs. Prefect

In my house, we LOVE it. It tastes a little bit like caramel, peanutbutter, etc. We have it every morning on toast, sometimes with a spoonful of jam on top. Some of my friends add some to gravy for a richer flavor. Works well at snack time and for a lovely little bite on the anti-pasta table.We don't ever want to be without it. Kids sure like it.
