CFMOUR Retractable Dog Lead, 5m / Up to 50kg Dogs, Red (Pack of 2)

Purchased one of the leads from here 2.5 years ago, cannot fault it whatsoever, I love how quickly you can press the button the lock the lead and how it doesn’t get tangled or stuck when retracting, after this long the only wear on this lead was the rubber on the handle which started to peel from the plastic, I could of glued it but for the price and how long it lasted with 3-4 walks a day I thought we would get a new one, I am very impressed with this lead outstanding value for money cannot fault it :)

This retractable dog lead is easy to use and feels comfortable in the hand thanks to its ergonomic handle. The one-button brake and lock system works smoothly and makes it simple to control the length while walking. The nylon tape extends and retracts well and is suitable for small to medium dogs during regular walks. The included clicker is a nice extra and works as expected for basic training. One point mentioned by other buyers is that the tape and internal mechanism don’t feel as heavy-duty as some premium leads, especially with stronger or more energetic dogs, so it’s best not to push it close to the weight limit. Overall, it’s a practical lead for everyday use, with good control and convenience, just not designed for very strong pullers.

I’m not a big one for writing reviews, but after a year of heavy use this lead absolutely justifies one! I cannot fault this lead at all. I previously had a Flexi Lead for my 10kg Nenets Herding Laika. She sheds like nobody’s business (thick double coat) and after a few months of use it started jamming from the hair trapped in it. The tape opening was so narrow it was impossible to hoover it out. These little dogs have boundless energy and are bred to work all day, so they are strong! She pulls like a train at the start of her walks so I always get leads that can supposedly take double her weight. After 9 months the Flexi broke off at the reel crossing a road. I tried to buy another Flexi but they all had the new “360° Tape Guidance System” opening. I had one of those, a Flexi “Funtime” for my other dog (4kg yorkshire terrier cross) and it was anything but fun. He toddles along, doesn’t pull, but it still jammed every couple of minutes and had to be completely unwound to sort it out. The supposed “anti-jamming” system had the complete opposite effect; no way was I using one for my stronger dog. I don’t trust the cord leads, the point where the short bit of tape joins the cord is another potential weakness. I had a good look through all the available tape retractable leads on Amazon to find an affordable one with decent reviews and no silly tape opening. I settled on this one, and I’m so glad I did! I have used this lead multiple times a day for a year now, for everything from quick toilet breaks to seven mile hikes. Not once has it jammed. Not once has the lock failed. It shows no signs of fraying. The clip still works perfectly. It has been dropped, dragged, trod on, tangled in brambles, rubbed against rough surfaces, no damage. The only maintenance I have done is pulling it right out and hoovering the fluff out of it twice (easily done due to the size of the opening). I can see this lead easily lasting another two-to-three years, or more. After a few months trial of this one I ordered the 3m version for my little dog, and took great pleasure in binning his Flexi “Funtime” lead - the only fun I ever had with that god-awful thing! I cannot recommend these leads highly enough. As always, size up if your dog is strong. Apart from that, you have nothing to worry about :) Update: two and-a-bit years from purchase and it’s still going strong!

Iam down at Suffolk sands flexstow and me dog wanted to go out in to the sea to call him sell off and i only ad a short lead so this one look good for the money and the the reviews were good go i got it today its like heavy duty if u got a strong dog that like to pull at times and its light waight value for money 👌

early days and all is okay. I have very arthritic hands but can still manage to use the free/lock button ok. It saves me having to walk over the muddy stuff and it was a good price

This is the 3rd one we've brought in 3 years. We can't trust our dog off lead so use extendable leads for freedom. He went to run to the end of the lead and the clip came away from lead completely!! Luckily for once his recall clicked in immediately and we had a spare lead with us. Could have been a lot worse. Really disappointed and scared. Definitely not the same quality anymore!

Was ok to use at first but now seems to stick when I try to release the lead or push the button to stop it coming out to much ? .

Quite a good ribbon retractable lead but my dog managed to bite through the plastic cover over the lead end where it attaches to the harness and bit almost through the lead too so going to have to get a replacement now before the rest of the lead frays. It is a shame that the rubbery bit by the lead clip is quite soft as the lead itself was really good!! The locking mechanism is great, feels really secure and there is 5 meters of length so my furry friend can explore without me being stood over her constantly. Really easy to use, just a shame that it isn’t a bit more robust and chew proof!!!
