Ikea Blanda Blank Serving Bowl, Stainless Steel, 5"

This is a very large bowl that leaves lots of room for tossing your greens without scattering them about. The gauge is neither too thin or too heavy. The exterior is a nice brushed finish and it is nicely contrasted by the inner mirror-like surface. I like that the edge is not scalloped so it is easy to fill it and cover with a pan lid while it chills in the refrigerator. It looks great loaded with greens. The price is amazing for this quality bowl. It will keep your salad chilled and it is a very nice salad serving piece.

I really love salads, like really like salads, a lot. And what's not to like, salads is really good for your body, and for your health. And mostly i'm talking about green salads. Because there are alot of dishes that called salad, but doesn't have any leafy greens in them at all, i think it's wrong. Real salad should be with some kind of green plants in them. I think some mix of different ingredients should have some different name, not salad, and salads only should be with greens, so people wouldn't be confused as much. And i had a lot of those wooden salad bowls. They all cracked after some time. Because i used them extensively, 2-3 times a day. They start to leak a little first, and than more and more, and in the end just crack in half. And i know that some people have those for years, but that was my not pleasant experience So this time i decide to try something new. And metal sounds like an awesome idea. And it is from every angle, it's really light, not bulky. And, let me tell you that thing looks sleek, it's nice it's shiny, best futuristic design ever, for the bowl. I think Ikea should do more of that extra futuristic stuff, geeks and nerds would love that. So if you love modern design, or everything in your house is modern and nice, it will be a safe bet to go with that salad bowl. Now of course it's probably cheaper to go to ikea and buy one, but it is only valid point if you have ikea not far from your place, and a lot of people don't, so order on amazon and paying little bit extra makes a lot of sense for a lot of people. In conclusion Ikea 500.572.54 Blanda Blank Serving Bowl, Stainless Steel, 11-Inch, Silver is a nice looking, modern and really functional piece of kitchenware, highly recommended.

I drilled holes and cut the top off of this to convert a normal gas grill burner to cook with a wok properly. Sorry the picture has discoloration, but I had to test it out. Now I get nice centered heat on my wok and it cooks properly. I didn’t use this as a bowl but if you were going to make a wok adapter, this is what you need.

This is beautiful though bigger and heavier than I thought. It is very impressive to use on a buffet table or when bringing the extra salad to a barberque.

Quickly shows stains and fingerprints, and the bottom of the bowl is tiny. It does what it is designed for, and serves its purpose as a mixing bowl.

I used this bowl for preparing salads mostly. It's a nice bowl that is strong and stands up to wear and tear. As a salad eater more than 3 times a week, this bowl gets used often. It's beautiful and shows well. My only issue with it, is that when drying the bowl off, some type of silver, greyish paint, I assume, rubs off from the bowl (outside only). I've had this bowl for many months now and a little bit of it, still rubs off (not as much as before). Anyway, the interior is free of it, so I am confident about using it.

A beautiful bowl in a series that I wish Ikea had never discontinued. I searched elsewhere for another simple, well-designed, hemispherical, stainless-steel bowl and couldn't find one. There are similar bowls that are not as attractive, priced at several times what Ikea charged. The Blanda Blank bowls are still available from other sellers, but at more than twice the original price. Nevertheless, I bought one. I am very pleased with it and am sure it will last for years. I read the news that items placed in the bowl outdoors had ignited. Clever of Ikea to design a bowl that also functions as a solar oven. If there's an emergency power outage, I can use the bowl to help start campfires. If it stays in the kitchen, it will never be put to this use and I don't have to worry about spontaneous combustion. Actually, I am planning on buying more of these bowls in smaller sizes. I recommend these bowls for their utility and pleasing minimal design.

WE LOVE It- the ONLY thing that could make it better would be if it had a lid to cap up the big salads we make in it. We bought a mixing bowl for that, and make salad in this and pour left overs in mixing bowl. It is perfect size for small, med, large salad. Can't beat it! :) Update: 12/28- bought one for my mom for Christmas- she loved it too!
