Nice little DMM for the home.
This is a nice little affordable Digital Multimeter optimized for home use. It does not have have some features like autoranging, but does have all the basic functions, plus a couple of nice things most hand held meters don't. The first nice thing is the Battery Load test function which allows you to test common batteries used around the house. The second is the innovative wrist strap that allows one to use both hands when using the test probes. Sweet! The only fly in the ointment here is that you have to take the back off to change the internal battery, but I can live with that.Would I buy it again? Yes, in a heartbeat.

Two different photos
Is this a scam? Bait and switch? The three photos include the old fashioned version and the new version with bumpers. There is a review here dated October 2012 where the older version was shipped.I have the older version Innova 3310 and it's been a great performer with very long battery life. But someone should wake up the people that listed this one with wrong photos.David

Watch out for the different versions
There are 2 versions of this model; the Original Equus 3310 and the newer version the 3310 + (Plus). The Equus 3310 + is missing 2 things the original 3310 had which is: 1) A pop out tilt stand on the back of the unit (so it can stand on a bench or desk at a 45 degree angle) 2) Colored green or yellow bumper pads on the corners of the unit (to protect it from being dropped). Most of the reviews and the picture on the current Amazon Ad are for the 3310 original. I own 2 of these which I keep handy in 2 separate tool boxes and they are awesome! I sure wish I could find a 3rd one for my electronics workbench. The updated 3310 + version (now currently being sold by Amazon) actually says "3310 +" on the unit itself whereas the original only had 3310 on the unit. Removing the bumper pads is bad enough, but the missing tilt stand on the back of the unit is even worse. This means when using the plus version on a bench or desk it has to lay flat making it more difficult to read and use. For bench / desk use the tilt stand is a must, anyone who has used meters with a tilt stand will tell you this.I've tried to locate places to purchase the 3310 original and I haven't found any. However the Equus 3320 Auto-Ranging Digital Multimeter has both the tilt stand and the bumper guards. Currently it's listed on Amazon for $18.14! I've found the 3320 to be as good or better than the old style 3310. The 3320 has all the great features of the original 3310 plus it does auto ranging (this is where you don't need to manually select the value or range for your measurement, the meter will choose the correct range automatically). I've found the 3310 and 3320 to be very accurate for meters in this price range.Looks like the manufacturer decided to redo the 3310 and save a couple of bucks in manufacturing costs by eliminating the tilt stand and the bumper pads. They should've called the new unit the 3310 - (minus) :-)

Good toy to have
Good tester. Wish it was designed with contact needles and clamps to make it easier to grab on things like wires etc

Good home and shop meter
Overall, this is a good meter for home and shop use, especially for the low price. I was looking for a meter that would properly test batteries, and selected this one after a bit of research. I'm very happy with its performance, and would buy the same meter again.PRO's: The meter has dedicated settings to test many battery types under load. Most general purpose meters can't do this. This is the perfect meter if you want to test your rechargeable batteries, and still want other more general meter functions. The ranges will be more than sufficient for most people. The continuity beeper is loud enough to be heard in noisy environments, which can be a problem with some other meters. The display is plenty big enough to see easily, even with my old eyes.CON's: The ACV tops out at 500v, and the probe wires are only rated for 600v, fine for most uses, but not for 3-phase motors. The soft plastic clips that are supposed to hold the probes to the side of the meter are pretty useless.A good meter, don't let the low price put you off as it's better than many more expensive meters.

Digital multimeter with quality
I am an alarm service technician and a home owner who likes all things in a product without frills.Everything I need can be measured with this product and I use it often. I chose this over the lesser product because it has an audible continuity setting. Necessary for my job as a technician but also useful at home to see if a lamp cord is broken. Simple stuff. The hands free strap saves me the trouble of gluing magnets onto the back to hold it in place while doing a service call i(f there is steel to put it against) while I use the probes. It's perfect for the home handy person and satisfies all I need for my job. That's why I give it 5 big ones.I also look after my tools. It goes into a cloth bag and is placed carefully in my service vehicle, not just tossed into a tool box.The price is reasonable for a quality product. How long will it last? My previous multimeter worked for over ten years before the voltage selection contact became unreliable.Of great importance is whether various settings are easily found. Some products like to do everything colour coordinated so they look cool. This one has good contrast that I can turn the selector to.For an improvement in the product I suggest larger print and more contrasting print on the selector and gaudy flourescent colours to help in low light conditions. This is a tool, not an ornament to be shared with the neighbours.
