Must have for W body cars
My carpet in my 2006 Grand Prix kept getting soaked anytime it rained or I washed the car. Very frustrating to deal with. After reading up on forums I came across this part number and all my issues have been resolved thanks to this product. It covers the air filter and directs the water into the drain. Part was extremely easy to install. It fit perfectly and I have zero complaints.

Helped greatly
I own a 2003 Chevy Impala and for some reason there is an issue with water getting into the car from the drainage area. This guard worked fantastically and I was able to solve the problem.

You can look uo installation on YouTube Videos on a like GM cars of the same class
I have a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 2 door coupe. Kept getting water in through the heater box . This item fits my 1997 , though its not listed in description. The wiper cowl , " grill around windshield wipers " does have to have the lip on the under side of wiper cowl removed. I used a small 4"grinder. You can look uo installation on YouTube Videos on a like GM cars of the same class. Easy Peasy install. Keeps the water from getting inside the vehicle .

Works great
It's a permanent fix to the water getting in through my cabin air filter of my 2004 Monte Carlo. I honestly think GM should have taken care of this problem as it is a design flaw of this body type W. Mine was leaking so bad my entire car flooded and had to replace carpet. I called the local Chevy dealership and they had no idea of the part I was looking for. So glad I found it here. The shipping was really fast as well. I recommend reading this post on Monte Carlo forums. This is how I found the fix. http://montecarloforum.com/forum/fwd-tech-guides-95-07-62/permanent-cabin-air-filter-water-problem-fix-26663/ it's a thorough explanation of how to use it and what you may need to do to your existing cowl to make it sit correctly with this part installed.

If you don't have it you'll probably need it.
2001 Chevrolet Impala this deflector fit wonderfully. You need to totally pull the stripping of so it clips to the metal at the bottom of the windshield. There were no directions but look on you tube, use the part number and you'll see the gentleman do the placement. Also this fitting might be better if you partially remove the rubber from around the drain venting on the top piece that is under the hood. You must use your judgment on this step but, it will absolutely help keep the passenger compartment air filter clean and dry. Many people have had to use this to keep water out of the blower motor and the inside on the floor board. I was lucky but this could be a big problem because of your wiring and carpet. I how this will be helpful to anyone.

Fixed floorboard leak in 2004 Impala
Was getting water on the passenger floorboard coming from the vent system on a 2004 Impala. Leaking from under the windshield into the cabin air filter & thru the vents. This part replaces a seal with a bad design above the cabin air filter and redirects the water. Don't forget to replace the cabin air filter! Did not even know my Impala had one and the vent system (obviously) works better when there is not a clogged filter.

Shame on you, GM.
This product is intended to correct a design defect, and as such, it should be free.
