Will the 10.5 diameter dome lid fit this pot?

Yes, if that is the same lid that comes with the 5.5-qt. stainless series Dutch Oven. I have this stockpot and the Dutch Oven; the two lids fit both pots.

Can i preheat this empty pot with the handle in the oven for 500f? i am thinking to use this as a dutch oven replacement to make sourdough bread. thx.

I would contact All-Clad for the answer to that. The site says.... Oven- and broiler-safe up to 600 degrees F; I personally wouldn’t because I use a Dutch Oven. Nothing wrong with multi-purposes for a pot. I’m sorry I couldn’t be of more help. Good luck!
