E-file wobbles and makes my nail beds sore. Dust collector is pretty good...
I recently bought the Melody Susie 2 in 1 e-file + dust collector on a recommendation after doing much research and hearing good things (I've been diy dipping my nails since August). I'd been so excited to try this e-file because I'd heard great things about the quality, but I ran into some things that have really bothered me about it. On only my 2nd use, there was a noticeable "wobble" when I turned the drill on. Also, no matter what bit I use or what speed, the e-file is so uncomfortable, I can feel the harsh vibration all the way down to my nail beds. The direction didn't fix this. I've practiced on it so much and tried learning so much but nothing has been able to fix this for me. Recently I heard from a professional that the "wobble" and the discomfort was coming from a faulty internal issue. I thought it was just me, which is why I practiced on it so much! I don't know if this is a known issue with this particular model, or if I received a bad one. But my nail beds are sore (I never filed directly on them) and I'm super disappointed. 😞 The dust collector portion of the device seems to work pretty well though. *EDITED* Just wanted to say that I reached out to the seller/manufacturer and their customer service is really great. They assisted me with the problem and sent me a replacement for my faulty machine. Really appreciate this.

No regrets
UPDATE: After 2 months (June), started to have issues with the drill; Amazon window closed in May...drill would stop then start when moving cord...I contacted MelidySusie, hours later they responded and requested a video to better understand my claim. Once I sent video, hours later they responded what the problem was and stated they would send a drill replacement. So within a weeks time of claim I received new drill...kudos to MelodySusie's customer service. I love this dust collector with the drill. I read and watched videos about review on this product. Personal experience it collected 99% of the dust the other % on the edge of the duster; yes the buttons are sensitive to touch for me the speed of the suction would change if the drill cord touch it but when I put the cord to go above hand instead of below no problem. I have 3 drills and by far this is my favorite. I also received a 20% off coupon code on drill bit sets (6 to choose from) love the way they work smooth filing.

Great product, some shortcomings in design choices (buttons)
Pros: 2 in 1 is very convenient, both items I would always use together. It has a very powerful blower, does a great job of collecting dust and flying particles in the air. Drill feels very stable with the included bits (no wobbling or bouncing). Easy to clean with a vacuum to the filter. Cons: Blower is a bit loud which is to be expected given how powerful it is. It is VERY easy to press the buttons and inadvertently speed up the drill, could lead to catastrophe. The speed control should be a dial instead of touch buttons in this case. Same with the reverse/forward. Blower shutting off on accident is not as big of a deal.

Great Drill, but.....
I replace an older model that did not have the locking feature for drill bits. This one is amazing in locking drill bits in place, especially when trying to get into the corner of the nail bed. The fan part can get loud so be prepared to turn up your television or put on headphones when using its multi-power fan levels, which is a nice feature. It left very little dust clean up and the filter is easy to clean. I just used my mini vac to remove the dust and also bought a replacement filter since it is washable. Everyone opinion is different and i know reviews help make final buy decisions on product , like they do for me, but this product is worth the price considering it has to different functions for the overall use. Pictures are pretty accurate the video helps you see how big it is as well.

Stopped working- UPDATED
Updated Feb 2023: I am changing my rating from 1 to 5 stars. MelodieSusie’s customer service was great. I emailed them a video of the problem, and they immediately mailed me a new handpiece. I received it quickly and it has worked without issue since then. I use the drill at least once a week between levels 5-9 to remove gel and/or dip powder, and it still works great. The dust collector filter is very effective at pulling dust out of the air so that I don’t breathe it in or get it all over my desk, and is easy to clean. I purchased this item on April 1, 2022. I have only used it a few times since then, and it worked fine until yesterday. The drill completely stopped working right in the middle of use on level 5. I checked all power cords and tried different drill bits - nothing. The fan part still turns on, it’s just the drill that quit working. I am beyond amazon’s return window so I have reached out to Melody Susie’s customer service and will update review based on their response.

Fan Stopped Working Within 2 Months On 2 in 1 Unit
This was fine until the fan stopped working and I'm stuck with a multi-functional unit that is useless to me. I used this about 4 times which put me just outside Amazon's return window. In the future, I will buy separate components as well and just replace one part as needed. Expensive mistake and not happy about not being able to contact Melody Susie directly regarding this 2 in 1 product. I'm out just over $130.00 now. Even an option to make an exchange would have been satisfactory.

Great for home use! (Please read edit)
I'm a stay-at-home mom who's a nail enthusiast. I needed a dust extractor because nail dust goes absolutely EVERYWHERE. I also needed a better e-file so this was just perfect! The dust extraction is great and the e-file - I cannot tell you how nice the e-file is! It feels good in your hand, like it's a quality product (which it is). I feel like there's very little vibration, but I'm not a pro and I have really no experience judging it against other e-files. I love that it has a display telling your speed and I also love that it has a forward/ reverse option. I don't know how well this would hold up in a professional setting, but I do know that if you're doing your nails at home, this is the product for you! EDIT: My e-file stopped working. It started making some weird noises kind of like metal pieces rattling around inside the hand piece whenever it was in use. Then the hand piece started getting really hot - too hot to hold. And then it just stopped working entirely. Of course this happened a couple of months after the 6 month warranty ran out. Ended up purchasing another e-file to use separately and just unplugged the hand piece that came with the dust collector. I am still able to use the dust collector without the e-file plugged and that part is still working just fine. My advice is to just get the dust collector and not the 2-in-1 option. Wish that's what I'd done from the beginning and saved some $$.

Efficient, Sleek and Space Saver!
I love that it all just fits together nicely and is 2 in 1 and I don't need to have 2 separate items. Packaged really nicely! The dust collector has a really nice and sleek look to it, surprisingly very lightweight. The hand piece is lightweight as well but sturdy. I will say though, that when working be mindful of the buttons. They are pretty sensitive to the touch, a light bump can easily turn it off or mess up your current settings. It also comes with 5 sanding bands in various grits as well as 5 cuticle bits and a mandrel for the sanding bands. Filing was very nice, I used it to file down hard gel nails it filed them down very nicely and didn't really skip at all even on the lower settings. Hand piece runs nice and quiet, the only noise you really get is from the fan when you are running it at either medium/high speed. Filter caught all the dust and was easy to clean it out before storing. I wrapped it in some of the paper towels I work on and just lightly patted the back of the filter to knock the dust out of it. Mine did take almost 2 weeks to ship, but overall it was definitely worth the waiting!

Oh my god. Buy it.
For someone that's mobile or for beginners that can't afford expensive name brands this is a good buy. The drill is amazing. I prefer this to my portable drill. The fan has decent suction. It's more quiet compared to other dust collectors and the drill isn't too loud. It has a lock for the bits. The only downside is the buttons are sensitive and I'm short with big chest size so my boing boings keep touching the buttons and changing speed or turning it off. I recommend turning it sideways to prevent that from happening.

Excellent buy
This dust collector/drill is incredible. I’m a certified nail technician and I didn’t expect this device to be so professional. I already had a melody Susie drill (obsessed) and so I bought this dust collector knowing the brand is quality but suction is generally a let down on items (including vacuums), so I wasn’t expecting much. It’s also nice to have a back up drill I suppose. Collects dust as well as a $500 built in collector. And this goes on sale often so I got it for a fantastic price. Happy!

Stopped working after a few months.
I've had 2 of these nail drill and dust collectors so far. The 1st one that I had, I only had for a few months and the drill part completely stopped working on me midway through doing my nails. Yes, I contacted customer service and they gratefully sent me a completely new machine for free. Awesome customer service. But the 2nd machine that they sent me ended up doing the exact same thing after a few months. The drill part completely stopped working, this time right when I was just starting. The dust collector part still works for me, but it defeats the purpose when it's a nail drill and dust collector all in one. I don't recommend getting this machine altogether.

I can breath easier now :)
Great for efiling my nails and I'm glad I got the one with the nail attachment. I had a portable USB efile before but this one is much stronger and easier to use since it's attached. The bits click in so I feel like that's safer, even though the portable one never had a bit come loose. I've watched nail techs review the different types and they've all been confused and hated the non-click drills so I will trust their expertise lol. The suction seems to be good and it's nice to not have dust particles all over the work space! I still wear a mask while filing but my nose and throat don't feel dry afterwards now. THANK GOODNESS because it was worrisome, enough to spend money on a good system. I saw reviews on youtube so that's how I found this unit. The negatives are that it's very sensitive to any touch so I have to use it with the buttons facing away from me. Also, the drill holder doesn't stay in place so I'm thinking I got a broken one. It would be great to have the holder work for quicker and cleaner filing. I bought disposable filter sheets in hopes I don't have to replace the filter often.

Unusable
Came with no drill nor power supply. I just had the actual fan, that was unusable. Very disappointed since i was looking forward to trying it.
