UPDATE: Tovatec Customer Service is Great!
UPDATE: A decent light. Good price for a mid-range power torch. Feels good in the hand and the spotlight feature is nice. It's not quite bright enough to pierce through North Sea murk, but it worked great for Red Sea night dives.UPDATE: Despite the unhelpfulness of Westside Dive and Tackle, Tovatec contacted me directly and has arranged an exchange free of charge. I will update again once it comes in and I have a chance to test it. Grateful for Tovatec's customer service.Worked for about five minutes, then stopped. Took it apart to find the entire battery and inside corroded beyond recognition. When it was working, it was not very bright, either. When I tried to return the product, I was told the returns period had expired, even though it was within 30 days of receiving the product. Very disappointed, will not be buying Tovatec again, or shopping with Westside Dive and Tackle.

Was super excited about this light and the magnetic switch
Was super excited about this light and the magnetic switch. Worked flawlessly for the first 3 dives. If you use the aa battery adapter it may explode on the inside like mine. I had to caulk the small whole at the end that would leak water. Once thats fiz hopefully your magnetic switch doesnt decide to fall off like mine did.Once you press the switch back on firmly and you can stretch the light through 1 more day hopefully the light stays bright for longer then 1 dive.To say the least I was incredibly disapointed in the quality of this light

WORST DIVE LIGHT EVER BUT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE
8/22/2019: Today I received 2 brand new Tovatec 1500 in replacement of the defective Tovatec 1000. Their customer service was not initially super friendly but as soon as they received the defective dive lights, they decided to send me these replacements. I cannot give this product 5 stars, but the fact that they stand behind their products is worth at least 4 stars!7/28/2019: I bought 2 Fusion 1000 back in November just before a trip to Fiji. Today they BOTH experienced a massive failure today on a shallow dive. Today was the second time only that i was using these lights (this one was a day trip). The first trip in Fiji in November 2018, including about 15 dives, went without any issue , but today on a shallow dive in Santa Barbara Island to take video of sea lions (40 feet max) was totally different. On the first dive one of the fusion just stopped working and the other one could not be turned off. I got back to the boat, rinsed them and put them on a microfiber towel to let them dry before going back to dive without them. When I got back, I found my microfiber towel full of brown sludge, it was obviously coming from one of the Fusion even though I had not opened the batteries compartment. Once i opened it, the inside was just a mess. I also noticed water damage in one of the reflectors (I am not talking about the drop inside which are normal due to the design, but the marks in the reflector on the right side which are not normal). I am now waiting to hear from the manufacturer's customer service.

Great value in a dive light.
Pros:- Plenty bright, for any kind of dark diving situation. I've used it in horribly murky water and at night, and it's excellent.- The battery lasts approximately forever. And it's rechargeable, which is a bonus.- Easy to use. The switch is readily operable, even with heavy gloves on.Cons:- For video work, you may find that it's "spotty," e.g. it's very hot at the center of the beam, and rapidly falls off outside of that hot spot. Not even really noticeable for normal diving, but it's not optimal for providing smooth light for underwater video.- The product dimensions aren't right. It's actually 7.5 inches long, which is longer than TSA allows in carry on luggage. This is only a problem if you're the kind of diver who carries your dive gear in carry on bags when you travel, and if the TSA guys working that day are paying attention, and if they care enough to pull out the flashlight and measure it. I've gotten it through a LOT of security checkpoints, but I've also been forced to exit security, pay the fees to check this light, and go back through security. All told, it's a great light, and it seems like it'd be tough to beat, for the money.

Doesn't look like 1000 lumens to me!
Bought this to use as a primary night dive light for travel, and possibly to use as a video light for my still camera underwater. I was disappointed with the performance of the light - it's not much brighter than my old UK LED stand-by lights that I've had forever. I'd say the 1000 lumen rating is definitely optimistic, visually it appears to be much closer to the output of 200-500 lumen lights. The light itself seems to be built rather well - no complaints here but it's still quite new.To sum up, I'll be looking at some other options for a real 1000 lumen light.

OK, but not bright enough or narrow enough in focus...
We bought 2 of these. They turned out to be not as bright as we had hoped and even though you could adjust them between wide and narrow, the narrow setting wasn't as narrow as we would have liked. If you want to peak in a hole while diving in the daytime, these won't really light that up very well. Both my husband and I plan to get rid of these and buy something better before our next dive trip.

Awesome dive light!!!!!
I bought this for a back up on my first night dive and man was I ever surprised. It was way better than the lights the dive company gave us so I decided to use it as my primary light. It was really very bright and easily adjustable beam angle. I used it for 4 dives so about 2.5 hours of diving and and battery was still working very good. My max depth was 116 feet. It also came with a battery, a little charger and 2 backup o-rings.I would recommend this light to anyone interested in a good dive light. Oh and if you have never tried night diving, you're really missing something very cool.
