Best product using since last 3 years working efficiently and prompt response

This is as good/bad as most smart plugs out there- infact it is the same as the most smart plugs as they are all manufactured by Tuya (a Chinese company) which are then branded by different companies. I went for Wipro as they are a reputed brand and though the product is the same as other brands, I'm hoping they will be better to deal with for warranty support if needed. So here are my thoughts:1. Being a generic product, you can use the branded Wipro app or the Smartlife app to control. If you have different branded smart plugs then better to use smartlife to integrate them all in one app.2. Wifi could be a bit finicky - it connected easily with my jiofi and jiofiber router but refused to connect to my tplink router for setting up. Not sure why. I ended up setting up the product with my jiofi and then changed the tplink SSID to match jiofi SSID and then it works.3. It returns to previous state after a power failure- this is both good and bad depending on your needs. There is no control in the apps (wipro and smartlife) to select if you want to default it to previous state or default to off. I wanted to use it for my water pump and so I want it to default it to off but it won't. Imagine if it was on and there is power cut for 4 hours - the pump will be back on after power resumes so you'll have to keep an eye if it's online or offline all the time- not good if you wanted to control this remotely. If it's controlling your geyser or AC then no big deal.4. Reliability- this is the main issue if you want to use it remotely. I tested the schedule and countdown timer features. If there is wifi failure then the schedules or timers that are already set will keep working. Different story in case of power failure- I tested the countdown timer by switching it on, turning on the timer for it to switch off and then cut the power after some time. When the power cut was for a smaller duration than the timer, it switched off per the timer, but when the power cut was longer than the timer duration then it would not switch off. There goes my plans to control my pump remotely.Bottom Line: These things are still evolving and most of the above issues are software related. There needs to be an option to select the power state after power failure and wifi should be more robust. You don't want this to get offline after switching on a device. For the time being, I think it is good for tinkering but certainly not reliable enough for critical applications. I think the Amazon smart plug has better controls but they only make the 10A version.

Very good product from Wipro writing a review after using 2 years. Has very useful features like you can remotely turn on /off the appliance like AC washing machine Microwave or programmeable option is also available to set the timing for switch on and off routinely. Most helpful is the current (watt) tracking. Its accurate. But wifi connectivity is little weak of the router is little far like 2 rooms away it's not responding properly if if wifi range is good then it works smoothly.

I purchased the Wipro 16A Wi-Fi Smart Plug on 9 May. One thing I've learned is that instant positive reviews can sometimes do more harm than good for buyers because they don't reveal how a product performs after weeks or months of actual use.While the plug performs its basic smart functions, I am disappointed with the build quality. Wipro is a well-known company, and I expected much better. My concern is that despite being marketed as a 16A smart plug, the plastic housing does not appear robust enough for sustained high-load applications. In my usage, I noticed signs that raise concerns about heat tolerance and long-term durability.Because of this, I would not feel comfortable recommending it for heavy-load appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, or other devices that may run for long periods and generate heat. It may be suitable for lower-power appliances drawing around 5-10 amps, but I believe buyers should be cautious when using it close to its advertised maximum rating.The biggest concern is that any heat-related deterioration may become noticeable only after some time, possibly after the warranty period has expired, leaving the buyer with a failed product and wasted money.Sorry, Wipro. I expected a much higher standard from a company with your reputation. Based on my experience, this product did not live up to those expectations.

Robust design. Smooth operation. App is good. Perfectly fit for gyser or dryer.You can control operation using mobile app, like turning device on or off, setting time (scheduling) to start or turn off, or setting duration like keeping on for say 10 mins once started etc. Settings are useful depending on requirements. Initially I struggled to understand the app setting but later I found the options and could choose those suitable for my requirements.It start again when power goes off and comes back i.e. Turns on automatically when power is on. It may be a problem when there are multiple power cuts in a day as device does not remember older setting when power went down and turns on when power comes back. No problem for me if that happens say once in a day.Well done Wipro

It’s works great but after 1.5 year it stopped working. I bought it 2 times and they didn’t even last more than 2 years !! For the price it’s expensive also

My main purpose of buying the product was to know the amount of power consumed, rather than making my bathroom water heater 'smart'.This is what I can say for the product, after using for little more than 2 months now.- Easily configured- You can switch on/off using the mobile app, sort of, from anywhere in the world, as long as internet in working at home. Also, if you need, it has manual toggle switch at the top, to on/off manually.- Using the timer/Schedule option, works like charm. The power is switch on/off at the set time, very useful for my purpose. Though will agree with some other review, it is not much 'smart' about it, as it only on/off's the device on set time. If power goes off before the 'On' time and power comes back, say minute after the schedule 'On ' time, then device won't be switched on, as the time has passed. This is really not much of a problem, in Mumbai where we don't have frequent power failures.- And it serves my main purpose, it also show the daily & monthly power usage, myself can't judge much about accuracy. the reading shown look fair.Few thing I haven't tired, but 'Wipro Next Smart Home' app does support- Works with Alexa and Google Assistant- Supports Automaton - do something with the added devices, based of certain condition, like Weather(temp, humidity, sunrise etc,) which is based location, or you can based on the device state (power usage, on or off, etc ). If ever actually use it, will update the review. But if does work as expected, it would make it really 'smart'Overall have happy with the product itself, and also with smooth working of the App.Will recommend the product, will myself buy more of product in near future.
