I did not receive rubber bands. Where do I buy them?

Call the vendor. The kit should have had the rubber bands with extra ones too because they do break with time.

Are the holes small enough to keep guppy fry from escaping?

Yes, the holes are small enough. However there are a couple of holes for the dividers that are a little larger that the fry could escape from. There are small bolts and nuts with the kit. I simply put them in the holes and that solved the problem. This nursery is a very good one, and I definitely recommend it!

Only one side has protective film or both sides ?

Both sides of each piece has the protective film.
