This trap gave me back my sanity.
If only I had learned about this trap a few years ago! I’ve tried just about everything to catch these little, extremely fast, hole-borrowing, terrorizing chipmunks that have tormented me for years. They’ve made my stone steps wobbly, dug holes underneath my driveway and around tree roots, and even managed to get into my car. They tore a hole in the back seat near the buckle and somehow gave birth in the spare-tire compartment! They’ve also filled my water meter with hard-packed dirt, making it nearly impossible to access the shutoff valve in case of an emergency. Then, finally, my neighbor told me about a cage trap they had picked up at an auction that had been working for them. I immediately came to Amazon to find one, ordered this trap, and WOW—it has brought me my peace back! There’s no bait or anything complicated. I simply set the trap, and before long, the chipmunks started getting caught. One by one, over the course of two weeks, eight chipmunks have been safely rehomed so far! It’s interesting to see the mixed reviews. I guess it may not work for everyone, but it certainly works for me! The trigger is a little touchy, but honestly, I think that’s a good thing—it needs to be sensitive to increase the chances of a catch. I absolutely love mine and couldn’t be happier with how well it has worked for me! I honestly wish I had discovered this trap years ago. It has been a game-changer for me and has finally given me some peace of mind around my home.

Works great for squirrels
I bought this sight-unseen so wasn't sure what to expect. Trap worked perfectly for gray squirrels, caught two with no problem in the first afternoon of operation. Trap is just the right size for squirrels, is well built and door snaps down quickly with no time for squirrel to escape.

Trap works very well
This large box trap works well and is well constructed. Because it is so long, it is difficult to set the bait- you must have very log arms. I would suggest a "bait door" be installed in the rear side of the cage, which could be properly secured and which would make setting the bait much easier. I would also recommend adding a device which would permit one to hold open the door after it is unlatched to permit the animal to escape while allowing the person to be at a safe distance from the cage door.

not as advertised- does not work as described
The listing for this product not only pictures mice but less mice is something you can catch with it. When I asked the AI assistant if it would catch small house mice the AI assistant reported yes this product would be perfect for my purposes. yet this trap does not contain house mice: the trap has been triggered and is closed the bait has been eaten and is gone there is no mouse in the trap and my cupboard floor is littered with mouse poop. A fair conclusion is that the wire mash of this trap is too large and mice are able to squeeze out. Total waste of money and too late to return. Very frustrating. I recommend a trap with finer mash a trap that is more versatile so even if the impetus is buying it to catch something like a squirrel or a rat if you can find a trap with smaller mash and end up having house mice down the road you can use the same trap.

Replacement for a poorly designed Havahart Trap
A squirrel gnawed a hole in the plastic top of my Havahart trap. The all metal design of this trap is much better. Two minor problems with this trap are setting it and releasing the animal after capture. First, the linkage between the trigger and door is a tiny bit too short making it difficult to set the trap. Second, opening the door is awkward when releasing the animal. Other than these two minor issues it works well. No assembly required. Solidly built. Makes deporting those backyard pests easy.

Love that I can trap and release
I have owned several of these, and they work really well. I bought them originally for pack rats, but as you can see, I catch the occasional rattlesnake.

Sturdy! May be useful for you, but not for me.
This is a very sturdy trap. My goal was to catch and release rats. Problem, no rats would enter the trap, regardless of where I placed it or what bait was used. Tried it indoors and outdoors. On the first day outside, it immediately caught a squirrel even though I thought I had set it up to avoid that exact thing. So, if you are having trouble with squirrels and chipmunks it might come in handy. Things I didn't like is that the instructions on how to use/open the trap were inside the sprung trap. I had to figure out, on my own, how to open the trap to get to the instructions. Once you figure out how to use it, it is actually quite simple. If the instructions had been outside the trap, I would have given it a five. Once I figured out how to open the trap, I realized that, my fingers would be perilously close to the creature I would be releasing. My understanding is that this issue has been corrected in the new version. Also, the bottom of the trap is also the same metal grid that makes up the sides and top. This is unfortunate. Any animal caught in the trap can freely go to the bathroom and soak whatever the trap is sitting on. So, if you plan to relocate what you trap, be sure to place something under the trap to protect your vehicles interior. Because of the bottom's grid size, captured critters feet will hang out the bottom so try not to break their legs when setting the trap down. Another issue with this grid is there is no surface on which you can place food unless said food is larger than the grid.

Buen producto
Muy útil para captura de algunos animales. Algo excesivo el costo y un detalle en el diseño que se podría mejorar. Pero recomendable.
