The thermostat works great (bought three). It is quick to install and works on low-voltage and two wire line volt baseboard heaters. Only drawback is the loud click when the thermostat turns on or off but the sound is easy to get used to (so long as it is set to 15 minute intervals instead of 5). The unit is very slim and the faceplate is easy to remove from the wall mount for quick programming of a few side by side. The mounting (all electrical wires are hidden) is only the size of a light switch and would be easy to paint around. Overall very satisfied and shipping was 1 1/2 weeks from US to Canada and well worth the wait.

Love them!!! First off. No "c" wire needed. Strictly battery. There is no light or added frills so the batteries last forever! Works with 24v zone valves and circulatory pumps at 110v AC. Only 2 wires total needed. Have had 4 of these in my house for over a year. Work great and I've never changed the batteries. Couldn't be happier.

I'm very happy with performance of this thermostat for our hot water heat. Installation was easy, and it looks good on the wall. Programming is fine; no easier or harder than expected. Only minor dislike is that you can only have a single temperature setting for 'warm' and a single setting for 'cold.' This means that you just set when you want the heat up / down each day, but not the specific temperature. So for example, you can set 'Monday' to 'warm' from 5- 7 AM, 'cold' until 5 PM, 'warm' from 5-10 PM, and then 'cold' again until the next morning. The 'warm' and 'cold' settings are then set and remain constant. This means that, for example, whenever the program calls for 'warm,' that will be 68 F or whatever you set. 'Cold' will be 62 F; you can't, for example lower the heat to 64 at night when you're sleeping but let it fall all the way to 60 F during the day when nobody is home. This isn't a huge deal, but just an important note because this unit won't work if you have designs of building complex multi-temperature daily programs.

I really like the design and overall functionality of this thermostat, and I bought two. Unfortunately both will be returned due to a serious problem with no workaround. For what is worth, I'm using it on a 120V hydronic system, but the problem I'm facing is completely independent of the type of heating. When the room temperature drops to the thermostat setting, the thermostat turns on (can see the ~ signs on the display) as expected. Within seconds, though, the displayed temperature starts increasing on its own, well before any heat in the room starts having an effect, and increases more than 1F in less than a minute. Inevitably this results in the thermostat shutting off the heat, and cycling very rapidly (especially on an hydronic system, where it takes a long time for the heat under the floor to actually start heating the room). As soon as the thermostat cycles off, the temperature reading is correct again, painting to a clear problem in the circuit. To troubleshoot the problem, I removed the thermostat from the wall, so that it was not connected to anything. Manually increased the setpoint higher than the current temperature, and could see the temperature readout increase rather rapidly. If I manually set again the thermostat to a lower setpoint, the thermostat turns off, and the temperature drops by more than 1F immediately. Clearly it's not a real self-heating problem as I originally feared, probably the relay or the load causing additional heat (since in that case the temperature would drop slowly). You can clearly see the temperature drift each time the processor reads the sensor (like most electronic thermostats, the processor reads the temperature and updates the display every few seconds), and upon turning it off, you can see the display temperature drop more than 1F at the next display refresh. It looks as if the A/D circuit reading the sensor (a NTC thermistor, from that I can tell) gets influenced by the circuit energizing the relay. Since both my units exhibit exactly the same problem, it looks like a design issue for the revision I bought. I also found mentions of the same problem in other online reviews on another site (search for "Baffling Problem, Returning" and TH140). I called Aube support, and after 30 minutes on the phone troubleshooting the problem the technician told me that it's a defective unit, and to return it Unfortunately since both units from Amazon had the same problem, I will need to look for an alternative, but it's difficult to find battery powered line voltage thermostats. Meanwhile these 2 units will be returned to Amazon

This thermostat is the third one we have purchased for radiant floor heating. I am very happy with all three of this same model. It is easy to program, easy to temorarily over-ride, and easy to change the batteries. The display has just the need information and is easy to read. Recommended? Definitely, YES!

Thermostat is easy to install and program and the instructions are clear and complete. However, it seems odd to me that the unit would not have an "OFF" switch. Every thermostat I have ever had possessed this feature. I suppose I can simulate this function by exploiting the "Vacation" (hold temperature) feature and specifying a very low temperature, but that seems rather "Rube Goldberg-ish" when a simple "OFF" switch would have sufficed. Other than that issue, I am satisfied with the operation of the unit during the current heating season.

My church has six very old gas wall furnaces that do not run on electrical power. So finding a programmable thermostat that didn't have a source of 24volts of power was impossible, until now. These units get their power from the pilot light of the furnace. Now, we don't have to turn on six furnaces manually, we can program them just like modern ones. These thermostats are fantastic. They are easy to install, easy to program, and need no electricity or an electrician.

I have been searching for a thermostat compatible with my water heating system. This is the ultimate thermostat. Does not make the pump work too hard. Cycles then stops. Its very efficient. Also very easy to program. I am very happy with it

Easy to use. Works as intended. I like the "Travel" mode. I can set a temperature (let's say 15 degrees Celsius) and when I leave for the weekend or for a long oversee trip, I just have to press the Travel mode and my thermostat automatically switch to the preset temperature. It's done without deleting my normal everyday programmation. So when I come home I can easily restart the regular 7 days programmation.

Tried it on the "progressive" mode for my radiant floor heating, and the behaviour did seem quirky - kept cycling on and off, quickly without letting the floors heat up properly. Switched it to the "Classic" mode and it works like a charm. Easy to program, and it's great that it's compatible with so many voltages. It does make an audible "CLICK" when it turns on/off, but I got used to it and it doesn't wake me up, even though it's un my bedroom. Good price for a product that does what it should.

I have had 2 major problems with this thermostat. In conventional mode the thermostat would turn on about every 2 -3 minutes and then turn off and cycle my in-floor heating circulator far too often. In this mode the display would ramp up from current room temperature to a higher value during the 2-3 minute interval, and then fall back to current room temperature when the thermostat turned off. Then the cycle would repeat until the room temperature reached setpoint. So I tried proportional control mode which seemed to work fine for a couple of months. But then I woke up one morning to a freezing cold house. The thermostat display showed that the thermostat was on (relay closed) but in actual fact my circulator was getting no power from the thermostat, so I surmised that the relay was stuck open. After fiddling with the unit the relay finally closed and the unit worked ok for another 2 weeks and then the same thing happened again. And then today, the relay got stuck closed and consequently the house got really warm. Now the relay seems permanently stuck as I can't get the unit to shut off. I expected a lot better quality from Honeywell. I do not recommend this unit. And, for those of you who are wondering if I overloaded the relay, the answer is no, not even close. The specs state the relay is rated for 2 amps inductive at 240 VAC. My circulator only draws 0.36 amps at 120 VAC.
