Bought this for my kids ipad to be connected to an external monitor. This adapter needs a charger connected to the adapter for anything to show up on the screen to begin with. Once I connect the charger, a QRcode shows up on the screen which shows a trust/don't trust on the screen which is not clickable. Very frustrating.Will be returning this product. I just wish ipads switch to the standard USB-C, instead of sticking with the proprietary lightning connector.

I purchased this item because it was a fraction of the cost of the genuine Apple product. Unfortunately, it does not work. I tried it with several different HDMI cables and with my iPhone and iPad but none of them worked. My TV would not recognize my apple devices with this adaptor. I am returning it for a refund.

It’s horrible. The $50 apple adapter works better when it wants to. You have to download an app to use it, your devise must be plugged in to power, the lag is unbearable for playing video games/streaming anything, and the package was 3 days late. (Counting Sunday because I had to work it, and don’t understand why everyone shouldn’t)If you absolutely MUST HAVE an adapter and can afford to splurge and treat yourself, Just pay the extra for the Real Apple Certification, but I’m gonna tell you what no one else will...These adapters DO NOT last, no matter how much money you want to burnAlso I know that the seller is from China. Considering the way they omit the bad reviews, and write their own reviews. Jeez. Why didn’t I read this before I bought it

First I thought it was a problem with the new projector. Then I thought it was a problem with the HDMI. After trying different HDMI cables I decided to try my laptop to check if the problem was the cables or the projector input and I was able to connect the laptop to the projector. The adaptor does not work at all - the projector just shows "no signal". Don't waste your time here.

I bought this to connect my iPhone to my TV, mainly so I can do Zoom calls on a large screen in my family room. I was skeptical a non-Apple product would work, but it did. I just connected the HDMI cable to an available port on the TV and the adapter, connected my iPhone charging cable to the adapter, and plugged its lightning cable into my iPhone. I changed the input on the TV to correspond the the HDMI port, affirmed the "Trust this device?" prompt on the phone, and then saw my phone screen appear on the TV. I discovered that you do NOT need the app on the other side of the QR code. I was able to play YouTube videos on my phone and see them on the TV. Ditto for Zoom.

Piece of junk doesn’t work. Luckily I found my one I bought from apple and it works just fine.

I purchased this, as a replacement to another prior non-apple hdmi adapter to use with my iphone and ipad on my flatscreen HDMI tv. But it reuires you download apps onto your devices that are a pain to try to access the function every time you use it. I do not recommend. I couldn't read or access the weird links in cantonese or mandarin in the app it required, after downloading it and trying every of the ten options - nothing worked. I couldn't use it, even though it almost worked each time. very exasperating. after dealing with this as an amazon preferred choice for a second time as a replacement to the first attempt I bought with the same issue - I returned both. Will buy the real apple hdmi converter. A shame. I wasted time and money trying to save money by not purchasing apple. Just buy apple. - never thought i would say that, but in this case, wish i would have gone apple first.
