How specificly do these jars work as a sourdough starter jar?

The fact that the mouth of the jar is larger makes it easier to add the flour and water during the "feeding" process. It has two different lid options. When I store in the refrigerator for a week, I use the plastic lid. I have shared my starter with friends and put it in these jars and use the glass lid with the clips so it is more secure on the trip to their home (I also give the plastic lid for when they store in the refrigerator). I sent some to my daughter who is enjoying them for her sourdough starter.

How large is the opening and how tall is the jar?

The jars I purchased are 9cm for the opening and the height of the jar is 15cm.

Can the seal be removed from the lid to allow for gas to escape as the starter ferments?

Don’t use the clips and that will allow for gas to escape
