Difficult to learn, but LOTS of fun!
I read the reviews before buying this for my son and decided to make the leap. He's a pretty athletic child so I figured he'd learn how to master these eventually. We watched the video and we discussed how it would take time to master it and he would probably get frustrated. He's 12 and I limited him to about 20 minutes at a time. He took it step by step learning how to roll first by holding onto things, walls, chairs, in the basement. He worked on stopping and starting. He worked on really making his feet go in and out like in the video. It took the better part of a week (on break from school) and he was in the basement practicing 4 or 5 times a day. Setting little goals for himself helped, so he felt like he was improving. He could go further and further, then do it without holding on to anything, etc. He really enjoys them now and he's orbit-wheeling everywhere! He does have a low frustration tolerance so it was necessary for me to monitor and limit him while he learned so he didn't throw them out the window! The only little problem we had with the product was there are some plastic pieces underneath that don't seem particularly structural, but that broke off one of the numerous times he fell down in the beginning. Two little pieces broke off, but since he's mastered them, no more problems and it doesn't effect his ride at all, so I guess it's no big deal. Anyway, fun toy for the active child, fairly high learning curve, but it can be done!

Very difficult to use
I purchased these for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas. She is pretty athletically inclined and still found it difficult to get the hang of using these things. I tried them myself and still couldn't get the movement right. The advertising makes it look a lot easier than it really is and I do not think they are very conducive to being used by young children. Perhaps they would be better suited to teenagers.

Good BUT hard to use
These are fun but they are VERY hard to use. My 16 year old (who skateboards) finds this very hard to use. She is still trying to just get her balance on them. My other child has attempted but it is hard too (and she rides the hover boards). Will update this once one of them is riding it.

Definitely buy these. amazing challenge. best buy ever.
I got these yesterday so I am nowhere near learning them how I want. I got them used and they are on perfect condition. Any bad reviews about these are complete lies. I won't say they aren't hard to use and learn, but, suck it up if you can't do it. Don't 1 star these amazing inventions. I recommend these to anyone who wants an amazing fun challenge with incredible rewards. Watch some videos, use a wall to start for sure, and you won't have that much trouble. I love these so so so so much and will ride them everyday until I buy new ones, or a hover board. Buy these. They came on time and I was very very happy and impressed. Amazon could do better with the tracking of your shipment and not just telling you everyday that they should arrive that day. But thats amazons fault. Not the amazing Orbit Wheels. Buy these. You won't regret it. Unless you lack skills.

Fun to ride! Very steep learning curve.
Let me start by saying ALL the people who gave this a one star are wieners, yes wieners. These are very hard to learn to ride, but to give something a bad review cause your weenie little eight year old can't ride them and you find it o.k. to let them give up probably after less than two hours of riding, but yes the product must be bad. No your kids suck.I did give it a four star because the are exceptionally hard to learn how to ride, but now I shred at the skate park. The skates are a solid design that can be made very compact, so much so, I always have mine in my car in case I want to ride. Have the green pair and are a bit flashy so you will be getting a lot of questions. You will have to be extremely persistent with these, but you will be rewarded.Side note: If you have Freeline's these might worth the investment. Ride these for fifteen minutes then switch to Freeline's and you will feel sturdier than ever. Also these in general are just a great strength, and balance trainer.

too difficult and dangerous
They are extremely difficult to use and quite dangerous for a 11 years old kid, the build quality is good but the thing is that there is no way to stay in equilibrium on these things. The kid used it trying to go on them for few days and now they are sitting unused in the garage

fun and fame
when i got these my dad thought i could not learn how to ride these. He was wrong it only tok me about a couple of weeks because i am determined. i urge the begginers to wear helemets for first use because you will fall on your face more than once. these orbit wheels are great quality and ride smoothly.i must admit i do show off when i am riding them because they are so cool. people will continuely ask you what tose are and some want pictures. so be ready for the fame and glory. i really recommend these for everybody because they are so much fun to ride.

So many regrets..
I purchased these as a sort of portable transportation method for relatively short distances. After spending days trying to get to the point where they were easy to ride, I realized they do not look cool and are not practical. Many of you may not care about practicality which is fine for a toy like this, but hopefully you care about value. These cost near 100 dollars, but the build quality is very poor. The wheels do not turn smoothly and the all plastic body does not do well under stress. There are a variety of fun ways of getting around such as the rip stik and power risers for the most daring of you, I just wish someone had written this review before I purchased mine.
