Natural Oatmeal Shampoo for Dry Skin & Coat, 17-Ounces

I have a bichon frise and used to use a whitening shampoo on him before I tried this oatmeal shampoo. He would scratch and bite at himself endlessly, and when I brushed him, dry skin would fall off in flakes. I ordered this shampoo because of its natural ingredients, and it's made a HUGE difference on my dog! His fur is much less wiry-feeling and is much softer to the touch. He scratches less, and the dry skin flakes have all but disappeared. I've used it on him twice so far and love it.I also really love the scent--a lot of other dog shampoos are very strong smelling (almost chemically so), but this shampoo has a very light almond/vanilla scent that is very nice. It probably doesn't whiten as much as the old whitening shampoo I used before, but it's definitely worth using just so my pup is less itchy! I'll definitely be using this shampoo from now on.

Difficult to lather on my dogs: Shih tzu in a puppy cut, Lhasa in a puppy cut, and Belgian Malanois, very short coat. Rinses fairly easily. Nice smell. Did not seem to do much for itchy skin.

The scent of this product is not as refreshing as the conditioner, which contains green-tree extract, but the shampoo is very mild and nice. It smells like almond oil (an included ingredient) and appears to help moisturize my maltipoo's coat. I use this with the conditioner and supplement with Warren London's Hydrating Butter weekly. So far, the combo has nearly eliminated her itching in this dry, desert weather and her curly coat looks shiny, feels so so soft, and smells wonderful.

I read the ingredients and have no clue why it made his itching skin instantly much much worse. It made his coat really fluffy and soft, which would be good if it didn't make his skin so itchy. When he scratches he now has clumps of hair come out which has never happened before. He is only two years old. I won't use this product again.

The oatmeal conditioner arrived in a sealed bottle and an expiration date of 8-2018. The shampoo arrived today in an unsealed bottle that was not full and labeled "best by 2015." Since it did not leak in the mailing box, I'm assuming the bottle has been used. I am sending it back and reordering in hopes of getting a sealed & full bottle. I'm giving it 2 stars because it smells good and I have hopes of it helping my dog's skin when I get a fresh bottle. I'll update my review if this happens.

We have a standard poodle and her coat is so thick that it feels like she never gets clean with all the other shampoos we've tried. I also worry about her skin sensitivities so we wanted to try this shampoo. We tried it tonight and we love it! She smells sooooo good, almost like she just got back from the salon! She finally feels clean too. Her hair is super soft. The shampoo worked well and got really sudsy. Definitely will buy this shampoo again!

dog coat was dry after use unlike other products in the past from other brands makes golden retriever coat look rich, soft and shiny.

Using this on my dog with skin problems. It seems to help, plus it leaves her coat nice and clean. I could do with less fragrance in the shampoo, but it isn't so bad that I won't use it.

Expensive but effective. I do not understand why dog shampoo and conditioner need to be so pricy

Shampoo brought my Shih Tzu out in a burning rash. His skin has only settled down a week after. Unhappy

As a family we've probably spent hundreds of pounds on products for cleaning and washing our Lhaso. She gets groomed every 6 weeks but in between times, despite being washed in the sink after being walked, she does lose that just washed smell and the fluffy look in her coat. We tried a couple of the pet head sprays, the shampoo and the show conditioner, they work okay but I think they may irritate her skin slightly as she does tend to scratch a little more after applying.This shampoo is fairly expensive in comparison to others, it smells of almonds when sniffed from the bottle, when applying it gives the most luxurious thick foam that you can't help massaging through your hands into the dog, I think she actually quite enjoyed this bath time as there wasn't the usual carry on with her trying to escape.When it's rinsed off you can feel how clean it makes the hair, running your hands down the coat while rinsing you expect the hairs to squeak.Once dried, the coat is shiny and very fluffy, almost cotton wool soft and it smells great, hard to describe the scent, its not of almonds or any fragrance that I can relate to, it doesn't have that just washed perfumed smell either, it simply a smell that you want to sniff and bury your nose into. Best shampoo we've ever bought....so good, I used it on myself

Leaves dogs with lovely glossy coats and it smells nice too. Have used it myself and have no bad reactions to it as it is not full of chemicals like human shampoos.
