I had my doubts about this but I wanted to buy it anyway and try. In the weeks I had it I really didn't have an instance to use it, until July 4th. While preparing for company I was using a mandolin to slice salami. While doing this, the tip of my finger came off also. It wasn't bad enough to go for stitches but it just wouldn't stop bleeding. I had it wrapped and used tons of Band-Aids throughout the day. That night before going to bed I decided to put the 8-hour cream on the tip of my finger and then wrapped it again. When I woke up the next morning it was almost closed over, it wasn't bleeding and I would say look like it happened two weeks ago, not yesterday. I'm a believer!

I am a great fan of this product. It has a proprietary mix of Lionel and mineral oils. It’s good for my cracked fingers. As a barber, washing my hands all day. I also use it as a face cream at night. As my eye cream. And to heal cracked heels on my feet. It has a little smell like ginger and lanolin. So don’t expect it to smell like flowers. The smell doesn’t stay with you. I believe Princess Diana used this product as her night cream. And nothing else. It is by Elizabeth Arden, and they still to this day make very quality products. I am a cosmetologist and read the ingredients in products. I did a little homework on this one. And it works! It is a lifesaver.

I have had rosacea on my cheeks for several years now and have been using a prescription cream which keeps it basically under control, with the help of a little makeup. However, a few weeks ago I had a really bad flare up coupled with eczema at the same time (which hasn't happened since I was a teenager) all around my eyes and eyelids and around my lips. It was very painful, the eczema was weeping and crusty under my eyes and my eyes were bloodshot. In a panic I ordered a bunch of products, and this came first. Wow! I was highly skeptical as almost everything causes me to break out in a rash and as well, this is incredibly oily so I thought for sure it would make the rosacea "acne" worse. It came at 2pm and I took a chance and slathered it on. By bedtime I would say I was 25% improved. By the next evening I was 50% better and 2 days later, my skin was back to "normal." At the end of the week I went out without foundation for the first time in years. I am in love with this stuff. Reading the ingredients, I couldn't tell you why it works, but it sure does. It's kind of addictive, I love the way my skin feels. A friend of mine sent me expensive, spa-quality organic moisturizer and it doesn't feel like it does anything compared to this (and it also caused a rash). The only con is that it really is extremely greasy, your face will shine. I just put it on any time I am home alone, and at night. When I wake up in the morning I layer more on for good measure. It's the exact opposite of what I have been doing for years--washing my face often and applying acids. Now I just slather this oily stuff on. If a pimple is coming, I rub this on top and it goes away really fast! In conclusion: it works for acne, it works for rosacea, it works for eczema. No rash or sensitivity whatsoever for me. ---- ***(EDIT) Been using this more than a month now and still no rash or reaction, which is practically a miracle. I have started using it in the day too. I was surprised, but it does soak in and become not oily, quite quickly. It is great under makeup. I have not had to renew my rosacea prescription, which was very expensive, due to this very affordable product. ---- *** SIX YEARS LATER: it still works. I use a light amount at night. I wouldn't describe myself as suffering from exzema or rosacea anymore.

Have used this years ago. I really like it! It’s good for around my eyes, backs of my hands and my lips. It so thick and rich. Smells like the highschool hallways though, from the 80’s. Mostly petroleum and lanolin. So if you’re a fan of bag balm, this is for you ladies! With out the udder smells. See what I did there? Ya, it’s that good. But better smelling. It does have a bit of a rancid smell, but don’t worry it’s not. It’s a good emollient, with salicylic acid and other goodies in it. Last a long time, and keeps the wrinkles away. Start using it early around your eyes and backs of your hands. The younger you start the better you will look at my age. I don’t have crows feet yet! Or forehead wrinkles either. Just sayin’ :-)

My sister read an article where a celebrity mentioned this product as her ‘secret to looking ageless’. Being ‘of an age’ we jumped on it as soon as we could open up our Amazon apps. As luck would have it, mine was delivered first. Squealing, I texted her a quick picture and ran to wash my face so I could try it out. I excitedly opened the box - I couldn’t wait; I’m gonna be ageless! When I opened the tube, I sniffed the contents - a decidedly medicinal smell, but that’s ok! I’ll get used to that, I thought. I squeezed the tube and a thick, formed, pinkish glob? came out onto my palm. I don’t know what I expected, but this wasn’t it. So, I tentatively tapped the tip of my finger onto the top of the glob and it depressed somewhat, but didn’t budge - it didn’t coat my fingertip like I’d expect a moisturizer to do. So I tried again, but with a scooping motion. The entire glob came up in one piece on the end of my finger. My initial thoughts were that maybe once I put it on my face, it would become more liquid and spread easier. (It did not.) As soon I made the first pass at rubbing it in, I thought - um, this feels exactly like Vaseline! What the heck? Still hopeful though, I continued to apply the goop to my face. Once I finished, I stood looking at myself in the mirror. Yep. I looked exactly like someone who’d just applied Vaseline all over their face. Greasy, shiny - my glasses wouldn’t even stay put on my nose, they slid down every time I’d lean forward. The feeling of the product on my skin was decidedly unpleasant; thick, sticky, almost a suffocating sensation, like my skin couldn’t breathe. Feeling a little stumped, I thought this can’t be right, it feels exactly like Vaseline - not a semi-expensive moisturizer by an iconic company like EA? So I read the ingredients: “petrolatum 56.8%” I couldn’t believe it. I’d paid almost $30 bucks for a tube of pink smelly Vaseline. Granted, nowhere on the tube does it say it’s a moisturizer, the tube clearly states “Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant” So, lesson learned - I’ll make sure to read the reviews before I try the next miracle ageless cure. I doubt I’ll use it on my face, because I can’t get past the sticky, heavy and greasy feeling - but it’ll work for a nice cuticle cream, I guess.

Every woman needs this. Time proven remedy. I learned this secret from my mom. Will correct any dry patch, heal any cut (almost overnight). My friend skinned her nose and I immediately sent her this from Amazon. I travel with it. You should too! Be sure to get the “original” formula.

This is brilliant stuff I use it on cuts, burns, blisters and mist recently cold sore. It sooths them all and helps them heal very quickly. Was in two minds about writing this review as I don't want everyone to know just in case I can't get it when I next run out!

Eins vorweg: die Eight Hour Cream ist super! Wer sie nicht kennt: Die Creme ist keine weißliche Creme im generellen Sinne, sondern mehr eine transparent-gelbliche Vaseline Paste in der Konsistenz. Die meisten Verwenden sie nur auf kleinen, trockenen Stellen oder den Lippen. Ich jedoch habe eine so trockene Neurodermitis-Haut, dass ich sie regelmässig im kompletten Gesicht verwende - und bis jetzt noch keine negative Auswirkungen wie Pickel oder Unterlagerungen erfahren habe! Nach dem Duschen/Baden spannt meine Haut oft furchtbar und ich trage dann eine dünne Schicht auf und danach ist die Haut super entspannt. Sie glänzt dann jedoch sehr - am besten nur vor dem ins Bett gehen verwenden! Zum Geruch: Er ist speziell! Ich hatte mich für die Fragrance Free Version entschieden, weil ich von der parfümierten gelesen hatte, dass sie recht unangenehm riecht. Die parfumfreie Version braucht auch etwas Zeit, bis man sich daran gewöhnt hat, aber mittlerweile konnte ich mal an der "parfümierten" (was haben sie sich dabei gedacht?!) riechen und bin sehr froh, die parfumfreie gewählt zu haben! Ansonsten eignet sie sich noch super zur Pflege trockener, spröder Lippen, der Nagelhaut oder generell trockenen Händen. Absolutes Nachkaufprodukt!
