Our SAIGA BOLT-ON (DIY)LOWER HANDGUARD RETAINER is made from 4140 steel and finished with Black Oxide. Bolt on Lower Handguard Retainer allows you to install AK Handguards without removing your gas block. The lower part is machined as one complete piece not two pieces that are welded together. It also allows you to install an AK 47 cleaning rod through the cleaning rod hole and has the sling attachment mount machined into the left side. The top cover is held in place by one screw on each side. The top cover also has a set screw in the center to aid in keep the retainer from "twisting" around the barrell. Fits all Saiga rifles. The 223 5.45 and the 7.62 Saigas utilize bushings that are tongue and grooved into the both the top and lower pieces. As each rifle varies from one to another, minor fitting may be necessary to the bottom of the gas tube or the top of the hand guard retainer to get sufficient clearance. Made in the USA
