Yes this is plastic, but it is made for the tub and looks great. Allows tub to fill up high enough for soaking.

I purchased the brushed nickel and it's holding up well after several months. Im impressed with how easy it is to keep clean and the added bath depth is fantastic. The plastic quality is questionable, my first one broke during installation, hopefully this lasts because it would be a pain to replace. At this price point, they should be offering higher quality materials.

The look and operation of this drain is a little different than what I’m used to, but it’s growing on me! The drain is push to close/open. The overflow seems a little bulky but you get used to the look. Also, I got a killer deal by buying this used. Came essentially open-box, near mint condition with all the pieces and for a fraction of the cost. Plumber had no issues installing. Cant complain!

Installed this drain in a new "deep soak" tub, also from Un-American Standard. It is a little more than a year later and the plastic "backing plate" to which the "metal" face plate attaches completely fell apart. It is a cheap plastic part that obviously was not designed or produced with any quality assurance. I contacted Un-American Standard Customer Service only to be told that I need to purchase a whole new drain kit to replace this one part. What a rip-off! I will never buy an Un-American Standard Product again and hope that this review saves at least one other person from the same experience.

Purchased the matching tub (Cambridge) at Lowes to replace a really shallow tub I had for years. I LOVE this tub! I was very interested in getting the extra two inches of water, so I wanted this matching item. The reviews worried me a bit because some felt the materials were shoddy. I had professional contractors install everything and they said it was fine. In fact, they really love the click drains like this. I haven’t had it for long, but so far it’s working fabulously. If anything changes, I’ll be back to edit the review.

No problems here. Kind of expensive but you know it's quality and won't leak. That would be the worst.

I bought this for a deep American Standard tub. I was hoping this bathtub job would last 40 years, so wanted this to be high quality. I didn't like the feel of the plastic, though, I didn't think it was going to last, and worse the stopper for the drain and the decorative cover over the overflow drain are both plastic as well as the piping. I just totally felt this wasn't going to work, they would break (especially the stopper from being pressed with a foot all the time) and discolor. Plastic doesn't stay white, it goes yellow. So we made do with the piping I already had, with a few extra pieces from Lowe's, and I think that was likely a wise choice. Don't know why companies want to charge lots of money for "custom" parts for their fixtures, but then deliver plastic crap. Oh, wait...

This is a great addition to our new soaker tube. It fits perfect for our American standard tube and allows you to fill the tub further with water.

this drain assembly was exactly like the photo showed and it fit easy and met my high standards, i would recommend, as i did by purchasing the hardware as indicated on the bathtub box for proper fit.
