The oval design in black, blocks the sun's glare and significantly adds to the clarity. Just like a hat with a visor, or a sun visor in your car. Sure, you lose a bit of peripheral vision, but it's worth it.Another reviewer mentions nose placement with a different type of mask, really, your nose is in the same place on your face, no matter the mask, ha haIf using this madk in salt water, be sure to rinse with fresh water when finished, the salt will degrade the rubber quite quickly.I carry a small spray bottle of biodegradable soap to keep the lense clean, this can help with putting fins on as well.Gotta go, the water is calling me.

I bought this since it looks better in underwater photos than a typical mask. For snorkeling at the surface, it ended up being the mask we grabbed most because the view was so good.It was possible to clear my ears using the fold in the mask skirt but my nose doesn't reach that part of the mask so I had to work at it.The silver color has started to wear off, showing yellowish plastic, but we really let this knock around in our bags and it would never show underwater. The straps also don't stay tight. So, it might not be as versatile as other masks but it was extremely fun and I was glad to have it.

I've always found that most masks in the market are just ugly, probably because they make your nose look gigantic.So I decided to look for an oval/classic mask, and I am quite happy with this one after very several dives. My mates are also quite interested to see this mask. After all, it does make your face easier to be recognized underwaterThe only caution and a major one that I must mention: the space where your nose will rest can be very small. Because the distance between them isn't too far, your nose could be squeezed a bit before going underwater,and after going way deep under, your nose will get squeezed even harder.And by now your nose is already being pressed hard by the rubber, I found that several times it hurts really bad when I tried to pinch my nose to balance my ear pressure. To counter this, I learned to wear the mask a bit lower, so that my nose does not rest against the bottom rubber. It eases the pain only sometimes.In all, I think it is a fine mask on its own. (I think I am still getting a silicon one, the one with wider nose space)

I feel like this is somewhat a good quality mask. Some pros are that it fits on your face fairly well, comfortable & fogging isn't too bad.. The major con for me which is why I rated this mask 3 stars is because it just didn't last as long as I would hope it would. We live in Hawai'i and go to the beach weekly with that said it did not last long. The strap first just started coming out of the loop all the time & then shortly after that they black strap turned like a whitish color and kept breaking off to the point now its not usable. Could be because of all the use in the salt water, being left out in the sun along with the amount of usage. So if you need a mask for just once in a while I think it's a great mask and would last a lot longer then it did for myself.

i love this mask. nice and wide field of view. and gives a retro look. super cool and well made. nice and simple.

I bought these for my son for diving. His other ones leaked & were giving him a headache. These ones work good, they don't leak, easy to adjust, & he hasn't had a headache from pressure around his eyes, & he said they feel good on his face. I would recommend these.
