I have tinnitus and this was recommended to me. It helps enormously. I adjust the volume to slightly below the level of my tinnitus as recommended by the medical professionals I consulted. At bedtime I listen to the waves or river sounds whilst reading the put the 30 minute timer on to sleep. it diverts my attention from the ringing in my ear and also promotes relaxation. I find it very calming and after a few minutes barely notice my tinnitus at all. You shouldn't try to drown out the tinnitus noise as when the sounds stop the tinnitus can seem louder. Just below the level of your tinnitus is ideal.I would actually recommend this for anyone needing to relax.I looked at other similar devices but this is ideal because it is really simple(you dont need a choice of 24 sounds). It has 7 choices and large buttons that you can feel. So in the night you can adjust everything on it just by feel without even opening your eyes. The round shape fits your hand well. I would advise connecting to the mains and using the 30 minute shut off as it is easy to fall asleep and run the batteries down.

Not perfect but I think it does help my husband, who has tinnitus, to get to sleep. Personally, I find some of the sounds irritating but do like the waves.

As the headline said - it has never been used. My wife wears hearing aids, which she takes off in bed so can't hear them!! I don't need the gadget although I have mild tinnitus it does not bother me at night. So it just sits there unused and sadly reminding me of a "waste of money"..

I bought this to help mask my tinnitus which has recently got a lot worse, I love the sound of the sea and find this option helps relax me and although I am still awake after the initial timed 30 mins I do fall asleep not long after instead of lying there for hours, very pleased I bought this.

I use this sound machine every night,to aid me to sleep. Some sounds better than others, but we'll worth it.

I bought this as a gift for my sister who has great trouble sleeping, she says it helps her a lot but perhaps she is being polite but having listened to the selection of sounds available I thought they were all relaxing except for the White Noise I found that irritating.

I really like that it does not have any lights and has a knob for the volume and buttons for the different programmes so I can adjust it in the dark.
