Our mission at Nú Infusions is to help you discover guayusa ("gwhy-yoo-sah"), a naturally energizing leaf from the that offers a healthier alternative to coffee and energy drinks. For almost two thousand years, the Kichwa people of the Ecuadorian have begun their days by gathering as a community to drink guayusa tea as the sun rises. There are some very good reasons for that! Guayusa provides a unique feeling of being at once alert, calm & focused, thanks to its combination of slow-release caffeine with L-theanine and theobromine. There are none of the jitters or crash of other caffeine sources, nor the upset stomach, stained teeth, or dreaded coffee breath! Not only that, guayusa is also packed with more antioxidants than green tea (to help the body fight against the effects of oxidative stress), as well as a healthy serving of chlorogenic acids (which recent research suggests may help regulate blood sugar levels, boost metabolism, and lower cholesterol levels). About Nú Infusions We are Conor & Fionn, two friends who discovered guayusa in May of 2018 through an Ecuadorian friend of Conor's. We immediately loved it! Fionn had always used coffee to fuel his long days at the office, but was tired of the mid afternoon crash and that "wired" feeling after one cup too many. Conor was that bit more caffeine sensitive, and so had always steered clear of coffee. When we discovered guayusa, we both found what we were looking for: an energy without any jitters, crash, or stomach churns, but with a brighter, more focused, and more sustained feeling of alertness. With each purchase of our teas, you are not only contributing to the livelihoods of smallholder indigenous families, but also to the demonstration of their more natural forms of rainforest agriculture, and a more sustainable future for the region.
