Great for small baby animals

I was really excited for this item, but my Syrian hamster was able to push the top clear door open. I made sure it was locked and she’d just push it up and pop it open each time. There’s no way I can use this.UPDATE: When you hear the click when shutting it, it’s most likely not shut right. You have to hear a louder click or just push down to hear another. Just make sure you try opening it without touching the lock button. It works great as long as you’re equipped with that knowledge.

We bought this for our daughter to carry her guinea pig in. It’s not too big or too small for him. He can turn around in it. Of course I wouldn’t recommend putting your pet in a space this small regularly, but it’s good for road trips, which is why we purchased it. He can tolerate it long enough for us to arrive and set up his cage. The reason for the 4 stars is the little plastic trap door on top isn’t as thick as Is like.

I got this to transport 4 mice for a long road trip from the breeders I'm getting them from. Definitely won't be using it for that. It could probably fit 2 mice, a single dwarf hamster, or syrian hamster comfortably for a long road trip but I would only use this for 4 mice for quick trips. Definitely not big enough for rats or guinea pigs. Shame it's the biggest one I could find on Amazon. If you're looking for a "large" this isn't it.However, despite the size, it is quite nice. Plastic is a little thinner than expected but its still secure. Good ventilation and smart design, just wish it was bigger.

Bought this carrier to fly on a plane with a hamster. The hamster easily and frequently pushed the lid open from the inside. Stressful while using it for the first time and in a plane. Always needed a hand on the lid.

Solid pet carrier that could hold 2 medium size guinea pigs snuggly without much jostling around. The handles flip and and down, which is nice to slip a seat belt through. It comes apart in 2 parts, the top part has an easy access clear "access hatch". All latches seems to work fine without any critters getting out. Has a solid depth to it. A guinea pig would come up to below the air vent slats in the top part. Seems to be a comforting size for small animals.

I am only giving it 3 stars due to the top pops open with just a nose nudge from our hedgehog. We have to keep extra eye when our family member is in it.
