Vocalists: Can't Clear Your Throat? Look No Further.
I have been looking for something to help to clear this stupid gunk out of my throat for some time, now. Like another reviewer, I had tried that Nin Jiom syrup, and several other popular remedies. Don't get me wrong, that Chinese syrup is great, but nothing would clear me out all the way. Using the other things, I could get my singing voice to come out crisp and clear during practice, but still, no matter how much I hacked up, it was like I had this dried-on "super glue" gunk stuck in one particular spot, that wouldn't move, no matter what, and it was really messing with my ability to perform properly. I had figured out how to "sing around it", but it was still really annoying. "Gargle Away" is the only thing that finally got things moving, and after only ONE use. Just a heads up though, it's really nasty-tasting and super spicy. When I was done, my mouth was burning and my nose was running like crazy, but it was totally worth it. If NOTHING else has worked for you, seriously, try this stuff. You do "only" get 6 packets in a box, but, no worries, it IS worth the $10. It's not like you need to use them everyday, anyhow. Think of them as, like, "throat BOMBS". How many do you NEED? Lol. Being that they're like everything else you've ever tried all at once, on steroids, 6 for $10 really is plenty. FYI, I will never be without these, now. - Emha UPDATE (11/11/21): I have not been officially diagnosed, but based upon the symptoms I was having, it seems that I was suffering from acid reflux, and that was making it seemingly impossible to completely clear my throat. I had to make a few changes to my diet, and I figured I should probably try something a bit more gentle than the "Gargle Away" as well, when need be. FYI, the "Gargle Away" also seems to feel less harsh/spicy the more often you use it, so it doesn't produce the same effect with overuse, and ends up drying out the throat. Anyhow, I recently tried the Throat Coat drops, which, fortunately, do not contain mint––something that is said to exacerbate reflux––and they are fantastic. They still have citric acid and lemon oil in the ingredients, but I am not getting the same reaction from them as when I put lemon juice in my tea. I will still keep the "Gargle Away" on hand for colds and emergencies, since it can't be used regularly, I suppose, but I highly recommend those throat drops for daily use. They are a bit pricey ($6 for 16 drops), but totally worth it. The tea is also nice.

Can be Tough to Use but Helped Calm a Years-Long Persistent Cough
I have had a nasty cough for more than 3 years and have been through exhaustive medical testing to determine the cause, and tried a very large variety of treatments and medications with no success at limiting my cough. My body seems to make a lot of phlegm which results in a lot of drainage in my throat. It is common for food particles, especially dry food, to get hung up in my phlegmy throat and start me coughing. Most anything, sometimes even a drink of water, could trigger a coughing fit. Sometimes my coughing fits would cause me to pass out. I started carrying hot tea with me everywhere so I had soothing hot tea to sip regularly through the day. I was often awakened in the middle of the night with a cough that I could not settle down until soothing my throat with some more hot tea. Going out in public became uncomfortable because of this persistent nasty cough. I was getting desperate. I found some Gargle Away in our pantry which we had bought years ago and hadn’t used so I decided to try it to see if it gave me any benefit. All the things that the medical profession had tried for me so far had not worked. After my first week of using Gargle Away morning and night my cough became more normal and I would sleep through the night without being awakened by coughing. I’ve been using it now for 4 months and feel pretty much normal now, my coughing has reduced significantly. Still not gone totally but reduced to the point where I feel normal again. After getting the initial benefit from Gargle Away in a couple weeks I reduced my use to just gargling before bedtime and that has continued to work for me. I don’t have to carry hot tea with me everywhere to curb my coughing. It really works for me and has become a fixture of my daily routine. Gargle Away can be tough to use. Some reviewers have said they can’t stand the taste. It is strong and can be difficult to handle. I find that I get a set of 6 to 7 gargles out of a single pack. Often I cannot make more than a few seconds with the first two gargles without gagging but the remainder of the gargles I have no trouble getting 15 to 20 seconds. I have learned to do a far more “gentle” gargle for the first two gargles out of a set before being a bit more aggressive in gargling. Anyone who has trouble with the taste or gagging should keep at it because it can bring real benefits.

Actually seems to work
I was very skeptical of this after reading the reviews and didn’t take it right away. A lot of people complained that is was terrible tasting and burned and although it’s not the best tasting product I’ve ever used it was nowhere near as bad as people made it out to be. I kept waking up with sore throats and decided to try this, it was a little spicier than old bay (I’m pretty intolerant to spicy foods) and had a bit of a salty aftertaste. It was much milder than other reviewers described it to be and I honestly didn’t expect it to work but after just one dose of it I surprisingly woke up with no sore throat. I think it’s important to let this do what it’s designed to do and not brush or rinse afterwards to try to get rid of the aftertaste. The price is a little on the high side for what it is but I will probably buy this again.

Beware - burst of Spicey Hot!!
Okay, I've been suffering from sore throat pain over a week due to placement of feeding tube. Trued lozenges, salt water gargle, antiseptic spray- no relief. Just got this product and trued one gargle- WOW this is hot/spicy!! Gargled too much to begin with. Trued smaller 2nd gargle. It seems to have helped a little, but I haven't been able to get the gargle low enough in the Esophagus to reach where my pain is coming from. Just be careful - it's really hot/spicy!

CAUTION! HOT! But it works
Perhaps it didn’t look at what was in it close enough, like cyan pepper. So yeah, it is VERY spicy. At least to someone like me who usually avoids anything above black pepper level heat. That being said, it does work. I need to be able to talk for my job. Drainage has been making that difficult, but it did get a lot of junk out of my throat. So hopefully I won’t loose my voice completely.

Works for me..
Over the past few years started waking up morning after morning with a dry throat.. Always is accompanied by a lot of mucus once I wake up.. Most likely related to getting acid reflux.. Simply a burning sensation like my throat is on fire or severely hoarse.. Tried a number of sprays, cough drops, candies, gums etc and all seem to work a little but rarely do they last.. One packet of this in a plastic 32 oz cup filled 1/3rd of the way full last several days.. Try to gargle in the morning, at night, and during the day if possible.. This particular flavor may not be for everyone.. Salty, orgeno, cayenne flavor kick that I find best heated up in microwave for 15 secs.. Lukewarm doesn't quite have the same impact as the slightly hot water does.. This is kinda expensive, but cheaper than all the teas and other redemies that haven't really helped much.. So does it work? For me definitely.. Hasn't completely cured my burning throat but it now seems a lot better and I will be keeping these around for a bit longer.

Recover your Voice
I recently did a review on this and would like to add regarding my experience to help you. After the third day of 5 times a day doing this... alot of the gunk of the post nasal drip stuff I am finally getting rid of. Not entirely but feel much better as well as my voice returned!!! Everybody has their own tips and tricks. Here are mine: I gave my voice a rest as much as I could; did not use it unecessarily. Don't sing in your car, in the shower, yell at your kids or husband! LOL Keep and recover your voice. People take it for granted, I suffer with the high level of humidity in CA. But doing these things included this Gargle Away has worked great! No ice cold drinks! Do warm teas instead!! and water at room temperature. I honestly thought I lost my voice for good. Try this stuff, do it religiously when you wake up after meals and before going to bed. I will be buying it again!!! I have chronic Laryngitis apparently it is hereditary. I had a minor cold almost a month ago and I still have not fully recovered my voice. I am trying almost anything in order to recover at least to be able to talk instead of just having air coming out of my mouth which is quite embarassing if you answer phone calls and need to talk to customers on the daily. I used this product and yes it does sting but it is not a big deal if I am trying to recover my voice. So, I am on the 2nd day doing this Gargle Away, still no voice improvement, however, I did feel that my sinuses started to reduce the swelling and less post nasal drip. It does seem to work in loosen tough mucus. I can only hope that with more use I get my voice back. I also recommend a teaspoon of your local honey and lemon three times a day. I make every attempt to voice rest, however, when you work..... Good Luck :)

Lies
This did not work. And foul. Wow foul. I’m all for biting the bullet to help an issue. So I did. I’m one of those ppl who are constantly clearing their throat. It’s annoying so I’m ready to try anything. Enter this $10 remedy of spices. I used it until I couldn’t do it anymore. Instant relief my butt. Maybe these things really do clear up bacteria, heck I can def see that! It would burn anything up! But all it did for me was give me a nasty sore throat. Still clearing my throat. Waste of $10. Let’s talk about that taste. You can’t prepare yourself for this. I get those spices are what works the magic, but if we can mask a chip to taste like a steak, you telling me we can’t add something in here, like natural mint or anything, to make this better? I mean, if it worked I’d give it props and say suck it up. But this was just torture with no benefit.
