Excellent for enhancing your bike's presence in daytime; bright enough for use at night.
I've got a rechargable LED tail light on my bike's seat tube, but when it's turning dusky or other limitations to visibility occur, I turn this thing on to blink mode. It is now a permanent part of my helmet. (On the front of my helmet is Planet Bike's also-excellent Sport Spot 4 LED.)Planet Bike Sport Spot 4 LED Bicycle Light with Head, and Handlebar MountsHaving lights attached to your helmet, if they're light enough (and these are despite the batteries), gives you advantages. You use one set of lights for all your bikes. You don't have to worry about them being stolen while you're parked. And if they're bright enough, as these are, you can get away with using them if you're caught out after dark. The high-up positioning of a helmet mounted light makes it visible from a long way off. If you're using a front helmet light for daytime conspicuity, it is very effective in bringing your approaching bicycle to the attention of drivers approaching from the side if you turn your head and look at them.People might think I'm being over-cautious using helmet-mounted lights, but many years of motorcycling have taught me the life-saving value of daytime conspicuity. Motorists, when they do a quick scan before turning left or pulling out, are looking for cars. Often an approaching bicycle will be seen but not registered unconsciously as something to avoid. It that approaching bicycle is displaying a bright light, it becomes an anomaly that the motorist must mentally process. This brings the bike to consciousness and keeps the motorist from turning into your path. Most of the time.If that motorist is texting, all bets are off.As you ride, beware of cars coming toward you and slowing, because they might be getting ready to turn left. And also, of cars approaching the street you're on from the right, because often they pull part-way into your lane before they stop to see if anyone is coming. And finally, if you can, ride to the right of the cars' path so you don't get run over by a distracted driver approaching from behind. It's never been more dangerous for cycling than it is these days. Enjoy your ride but take precautions.

Pretty Decent Safety Light
Purchased a few of these lights in 2010 and except for the one that fell off they are still in use.Pros:Multiple signal patterns, so vehicles can distinguish you from "just another car", and it's bright enough to see from several hundred feet. I also liked the versatility of being able to attach it where I wanted on my bike. It also lasts quite a while on just a couple of batteries.Cons:The only reason I did not give these 5 stars was because I wish it had been maybe 50% bigger and the fact that one fell off while I was riding. But most will be very happy with this light, and the visibility it provides.

Bright light, bad mounting design
Ehh, the light is bright but the mounting system needs redesigned. I bought one to use on my lengthy 50-100 mile rides thinking it would be the perfect light when teamed up with another on my seat post. I got about 65 miles into a 100 mile ride and a follow rider noticed the light come of and land in the road. The light came out of its mounting assembly and fell into several pieces. I was unable to keep the lens/battery cover snapped in place. Had to toss it in my pocket. Note that I ride an average of 5000 miles per year on varying conditions of road surface. None of my other lights fell apart like this one did! Especially on the first ride with the light.Long story short, I got home and examined the light and the clips that hold the lens to the body of the light aren't sufficient to keep the assembly together. Took photos, and emailed requesting replacement from Planet Bike. They were quick to apologize and sent me out a replacement which arrived in a couple of days. Unfortunate for me is that I lost any confidence that I had for this light. I might try it again some day but only as a second light. Meanwhile the unopened replacement sits on a shelf in my bike room.

Bright. Swivels to capture attention
[Update 4/10/2018: Light still works GREAT. Bought another one for my wife]I mounted this light on my helmet. It swivels vertically while you bike, ensuring that the cars behind you catch the blinking light. Other products I had used were fixed, and so if your head happens to be looking up or down, drivers wouldn't be able to see your light. This light, however, is not quite useful for when you are looking left or right. Get another blinking light for your bike to ensure there's one constantly shining towards the cars behind you. I recommend the Planet Bike Blinky Superflash Tail Light for that purpose.PROS- Self-leveling swivel, ensuring light always points horizontally- Different blinking modes- Lights are fairly bright- Waterproof- Can be mounted to helmet easily with included strapCONS- None reallyIf you find this review helpful, please click Yes below to encourage me to write more. Was great until it needed batteries...
I bought one for me, and one for my wife. I tried to put new duracel's in each of them, but the battery ends didn't quite make contact. I tried very hard to make it work, but it just didn't... and I don't want to buy 10 different manufacturers of batteries to see what would work. Before the battery fiasco, I wrote the below. I returned these.Easy to install, and self leveling hinge is awesome! I have a light below my seat, and use this up high on the helmet. I notice cars are giving me much more room, than when I just had the under the seat light. Can't be too safe out there!!

Very useful.
Great since it keeps the light at the right angle, no matter how you are positioned or where you place it.A strap is used to hold it in place on the helmet.
