BLACK+DECKER String Trimmer, Electric, 14-inch (BESTE620)

I’m really impressed with the BLACK+DECKER BESTE620 string trimmer! For an electric model, it packs a surprising amount of power. It easily handles overgrown grass and weeds around my yard, and the 14-inch cutting swath makes quick work of trimming even larger areas.One of the things I love most is how lightweight and easy to maneuver it is. Good value, works great, line lasts a long time. Replacement spools are cheap enough to buy several. The manual feed is perfect. It's light and edges well with the adjustable head and wheel. Only downside, it is works as far as the cord streches. But a pro is also it is corded, so it dosen't add to a nasty battery collection. You don't have to mess with changing them out or buying replacement packs.

Needing a string trimmer, I started looking at cordless. After reading lots of so-so reviews about battery hassles, I realized I have plenty of extension cords and a small area to keep weed free. I love corded tools. No batteries to worry about. This Black & Decker gets great reviews for its effective ease of use, and sturdiness. I agree. In a few minutes you are ready to go. But - wait! Is your extension cord going to fit the tight plug-in on this trimmer?? Mine barely fits, and I bet yours will be tight too. I happened to have a repaired plug on one extension that did Not fit. A bit of a design flaw. Note that this trimmer only needs a 2-pronged extension. Secondly, I also found that if you impact something hard, say a brick or something wooden, you can cause the cutting line to go all the way into the line “container” I quickly had to learn how to repair the line feed. Twice. That can be learned reading the instructions. So, it does take some practice learning how to use this (and every) line trimmer. Having gotten the hang of it, it is a great time saver and efficient grass and weeds trimmer. I am pleased I bought it. The live feed enhancement seems to work well, and that took took some practice. It just takes one press to feed just enough. I gave this trimmer a four, because of the small things I had to learn how to use, and the plug situation. If you buy an extension cord for this trimmer, make sure it has a small female 2-pronged head, and try it immediately before things get dirty. This B&D does a great, fast job once you have the technique down.

This was a replacement for an older model that I had for over ten years... Black and Decker trimmer is well made, and functions well. The only thing that I have noticed is that I use a lot more of the nylon trimming cord than I used to use.. I put that to cheaper materials rather than the fault of the trimmer... Good value when compared to other trimmers.....

Why did you pick this product vs others?:My former Black & Decker weedeater broke. I wanted one just like it because it worked good for me. The new one was easy to assemble, lightweight and easy to use.

Looks easy to rewind since it has only one string. But its quiet and cuts better than my old 2string and doesnt get trapped in long grass. Button releases new string and works better than bumping. I dont have any use for wheel on front, but some may. It doesnt interfere with operation. Looks sturdy and good value for money.

Better than my last trimmer - very happy. Plenty of power. Well balanced.

THIS HAS AUTO FEED, NOT JUST THE FEDD BUTTON. I bought this because I thought it didn't have autofeed. You lose a quarter inch of string Everytime you pull the trigger. The mechanism can easily be disabled by stopping the little lever inside from moving but then you have to pull the head off to get more string.Other than that, plenty of power, lightweight and comfortable to use. Safe yourself 20 bucks and get the regular model without the button. You won't need the button feed with how much this puts out on its own
