Hello, Be sure to place the blue shipping plug into the open end of the red barometer tube to prevent leakage during shipment. If you are placing the barometer in a box, it would be safer to remove the tubes from the frame and remove the sliding scale from the tubes. Place each tube between two pieces of cardboard like a sandwich and tape them together. Do not stack anything on top of the box containing the tubes or they might break. Allivan Marketing has replacement tubes if that should happen. Also, if you are moving to a lower altitude, you will need to add red fluid to your barometer in order to calibrate it. Allivan also has additional red fluid. Good luck with your move.

Is there a mounting hole?

Yes, there is a mounting hole in the frame. It is the black dot at the top of the frame in the picture. It comes with the screw which has a decorative cap to cover the end of the screw.
