New Carburetor 2 Barrel Compatible With 1983-1988 Jeep Wrangler Wagoneer BBD 6 CYL 4.2L 258 CJ5 Automatic Electric Choke

I bought this carb for my neighbors 85 Jeep. I eliminated all the emissions and installed this one so that he could use it on his farm. He'd been having so much trouble keeping it running that I told him I'd take care of it for him. All I had to do was adjust the choke and idle and adjust the jets a little to make it purr like a kitten! I'd suggest this carb to anyone needing a good replacement. No issues installing and the jeep starts and idles like a new one now.

I was hesitant to buy but glad I did. Install was easy and perfect factory like fit. Tuned easily within a few minutes. Have a few hours of drive time on it now and it’s still running perfect. No longer have idling issues and cleared up the low end bog I had.

Fits and works well on my 1985 CJ-7, but I wired the choke open and unplugged it.

This is a very good replacement for the electronically controlled carburetor on a 88 Jeep Wrangler with 6 cylinder engine. Make sure to follow the “Nutter Bypass” steps as shown on YouTube after installing this carburetor. The idle mixture screws should be “seated” and backed-out one and one half turns as an initial starting point.

I recieve with a broken part from factory. The box that I recieved it on was intact.. not satisfy

Carb install was a breeze, set up choke and screws then started engine. Spit sputtered, tried to readjust then saw fuel dripping into carb from faulty gaskets or float/needle and seat. Returned and ordered a second and it was just as bad. Returned both.

Perfect for the jeep YJ after the nutter bypass . Fuel mileage and performance is incredible.

Simple replacement for OEM carburetor. No conversion required - directly bolts to motor. This particular model eliminates electronic issues for the carb.
