I like that it does not include any friction modifiers for LS as I have open diffs
Yeah it's pricey but I think this is pure synthetic gear oil with no friction modifiers. Better than the Mobil1 75w90. My proof is anecdotal at best, but I think as majority of the 75w90s include friction modifiers for limited slip diffs it sometimes leaves some strange symptoms, a little jerk in the rear diff at low speed, delay power when turning etc. At first glance the Motul 300 does not include any of those modifiers and it seems as a result, smoothening out those symptoms. Definitely pricey, and it's not like Mobil1 75w90 with those modifiers is unusable, it works well too, but this seems to be a little better.

2001 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS 5MT
This is my go to transmission and rear diff oil for my Subaru. I have heard great things about the Redline products but I have had consistent good results with Motul. I have also seen people recommend the Subaru Extra S. This seems like a good product but it is a bit difficult to get in the quart sizes. Motul Gear 300 is the perfect 75w90 for me. My 2001 RS takes 0.7 quarts in the rear diff and about 3.5 quarts in the transmission. After swapping the older black oil from my diff and transmission with this stuff, I am experiencing much smoother shifts and absolutely zero grinding of gears. All my shifts are smooth as butter. This stuff may seem a bit pricey, but if you really want to protect the gears in your ride you should really look into this stuff. Nothing but good things to say about it from me. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking into swapping their manual transmission or rear diff oil. This stuff lives up to its reputation. 9/2/14 EDIT: I would like to add that when doing the rear differential fluid, I had also purchased the PLEWS 55001 pump to pump the oil into the fill hole of the diff. Due to the special design of the Motul bottles, the pump DOES NOT screw onto the bottle. I ended up just holding it onto the bottle while I pumped it into the diff. It still works, however not perfectly. In my opinion, still worth the $6 I spent on the pump to make refilling the diff easier. I would also recommend giving this oil a bit more time to heat up. It is fantastic gear oil, however I have noticed it takes a minute or two for it to warm up and get that "extra buttery" feeling to it. This is perfectly fine since when it is warmed up, you will never want to use a different gear oil again. Still going strong over here..

High End Gear Lube
I have a 2012 Chevy Traverse and it drives 50 miles every day to work , odometers 198,000 miles , so I wanted to replace rear differential with the best product possible and this was what I picked for the job. I drained old fluid and it sure needed changing!!! It should been done every 50k miles for front transfer case and rear differential gear box. Each takes 1 1/4 quarts approx. each , so have three quarts available when doing both gear boxes!

Quality Product
Well worth the money - it's been over 15,000 miles since I've used this product in a car I drive daily. Absolutely no problems whatsoever shifting now, after previously needing to replace the original smelly stuff the factory had in it, because of clunky shifting. I had my doubts that replacing a product like this would help so much, but it certainly works as well as I've been told. Professional quality, and it ships to me from France.

2016 Subaru STI
Did a transmission and differential fluid change with this fluid at 20,000 miles and boy what a difference!!! The stock fluid was very clean upon change but obviously does not offer the protection of the 300, shifts are like a butter now! Wish I would've switched my stock fluid out when the car had 5 miles, A lot more enjoyable to row through the gears !!! Just an FYI there's no reason to switch out the drain plug gasket's due to the fact they're not crush style washers they are meant to be used over and over again just an FYI for anyone doing this fluid change on a Subaru

Scion FR-S / Subaru BRZ / Toyota 86 MUST BUY!!!
I bight my frs brand new from the dealer, from day 1 I have hated the manual transmission.... it is too clunky and the sunchros may just need some Time to be worked in.. but I can't stand it. I removed the clutch spring and adjusted the clutch for Better feel, it did a little bit but not too much. But the oil helped a lot. It's still a little rough, but it is for sure starting to feel like a normal manual car now! For sure recommended if that's why your switching!

My motorbike has very specific oil and maintenance requirements. This is one of the only oils that I can easily get, that fits the manufacturer's specifications. I've tried to get the oil from local motor factors, garages and motorbike superstores, but Amazon is the best value and most convenient supplier.
